The moment of clarity seemed to drag on, she had hesitated, something she has never done in battle before; Olgan was always confident in her abilities, and at the very least her abilities when fighting. So color her stunned when doubt crept up, doubt as to why she was doing what she was doing, if she really wanted this, if this was really what she needed.
Brows furrowed as her gaze finally fell to Honey who was now hugging her, had she not been careful with her strike the chimera might have been struck with enough force as to get sent well into the foliage...Olgan didn't want that, not in the manner with which it would have happened, not with the cold fury of a killer...she really just wanted a friendly bout.
All her friends, acquaintances had the means to fight, to defend themselves properly and attack, but none did, none wanted to fight...she was cursed with being the only one who spoke better with fist and fury then actual words.
sh-! She had to back up! Now color her a bit surprised when the flurry of vines were quick to lash out!
Quick to side step and gain space backwards to avoid one stalk of furious greenery, having to arch her back, bending over to avoid the next These weren't static weapons though, the were twisting living weapons meaning she couldn't just dodge once and be done with it. Normally here is when she would strike back with magic of her own, but for whatever reason the storms seemed to ignore her demands, and she only had what was stored in her already, which was very little; Strength and skill, all she had.
To Honey's credit, whether she enjoyed fighting, or even considered herself a fighter at all, She understood well enough overwhelming force was a completely valid strategy!
But Olgan was a beast of war, a creature one might think was simply created for the purpose of conflict. Her stunned confusion would settle quickly, the cool calm, and lethal expression returning. Heart rate calmed, as to Olgan things would slow down around her enough to start thinking ahead, to start predicting, start acting.
Her retreat had halted, and her assault began, once more closing in with speed, lessened by the need to dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge, but she was still a quick one, returning again to try and land a powerful right hook onto the chimera.
But again was pulled from the moment, not stopping short, but certainly pulling her punch enough.
She didn't want to hurt Honey.
