Trying to keep A-Ling from “helping”. Sometimes Jiang Cheng comes along because his siblings are there, so it seems weird not to invite him as well. MianMian drops in with her husband and kid every once in a while and it’s glorious chaos. 

Dove sells a nice cucumber soap. It's not girly-scented and works really well.

Dude has just found that the commercial soaps, whatever the ingredients are in them, make him stink like B.O. by like three pm, and it’s gross. He should figure out what the ingredient is, exactly. I can back this up, he used to be kind of a smelly dude in the evenings and I just sort of dealt with it, and he tried like a billion deodorants, but if he switched to natural soap-- and by that, it turns out, all that means is Not Any Of The Big Commercial Ones (he tried Ivory, Dove, Irish Spring...)-- he might know what the ingredient was that made him so stinky, but I know whatever it was, it definitely did it. So he uses Kiss My Face or Kirk’s Castile or whatever. Alas, Dr. Bronner’s makes his skin fall off.

can you buy soap from Khadi? they're durable, natural(-scented), come in a bunch of fragrances, and should be cheap for US folk.

I looked them up and they’re about eight times the price of the “Chandrika” soap he just bought, so. [Whether that means they’re cheap or not in absolute terms, I couldn’t say! The Chandrika soap is really inexpensive.] They can go on the list but he likes to be real cheap I guess. 

Buttons thinks it’s playtime and the dwarves suffer. The kitten pounces on exposed toes as well.

These are all really cool ideas! Personally I’ll say I don’t agree with all of them but that’s a matter of splitting headcanons and none of this is to say you can’t follow these ideas.

In general I’ve kind of read the galra as actually pretty thick-skinned? Like they have a leathery sort of pseudo-scale consistency to their hide but that could be a point of interest as well, if like, Keith’s had sort of rough, scaly-looking patches on knees and elbows. So I don’t think their skin would be too reactive on principle, but, I could still see certain substances making him sick and it’s basically all just trial and error, he has to learn for himself what’s bad for him and avoid it.

I do like the idea of social issues. Like ideas I have for the galra is direct uninterrupted eye contact is very forwards/intimidating so Keith being autistic and having a problem with eye contact would have been seen as normal. 

Other forward/intimidating things are big toothy smiles (a lot of species view this as threatening and I feel like the galra would more so, considering they tend to have sturdy-looking jawlines and sharp, sometimes even protruding teeth- this is a species that has a powerful bite and while that wouldn’t be in frequent use as a spacefaring empire, they’d have that holdover where if someone is grinning at you it suggests, in some magnitude, they are flexing natural weapons at you- not comfortable. 

(We have seen a couple of galra- mostly Sendak leaps to mind- grin toothily, but iirc only in contexts that suggests they do not mean nice things by it)

As far as vision, I’m a fan of the idea that Keith might actually be selectively colorblind because Galra are attuned for low-light vision (and I made a post about this god danget I swear it’s in here somewhere) but that’d feed right into what you said about sensory sensitivity because everything is too bright. Always. Forever. He has a resting angry face and at least thirty percent of it is squinting. I also feel like he might have an issue with smells, especially if the galra do have a flehmen’s response- also, fun ideas with the team where every time Lance changes his shampoo/soap/body lotion/whatever Keith notices and comments on it and Lance is like sorta flattered and sorta weirded out, while Keith doesn’t know why he’s being weird about it, c’mon Lance this is really obvious.

LISTEN OKAY THIS IS SO UP THEIR ALLEY AND I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THAT THIS IS A DWALIN AND ORI IDEA.

Dwalin and his Ugly Cats, the Ris and their Weird Dogs, Dwori are BONDING over this, they’ve never really spent time together alone but now they’re coming up with ideas and figuring out how to make it all legal and looking at local shelters that need help and maybe there is a little blushing and hand touching and I hope Ori gets a ferret or a flying squirrel.

Ori is now very very good at keeping a straight face whenever Dori gets out the photo album, however I’m sure “The Sound of Silence” is playing in his head the whole time.
