Used to do the “reblog > likes” thing because I wanted more people to see my art, didn’t know that it could be harmful
This is understandable for sure! This is a more subtle form of reblog bait and it's obviously never intended to be malicious, artists ofc want engagement, but most of the harm from this comes from the fact that for people with OCD, seeing the "reblogs > likes" makes them feel an obligation to reblog even if they weren't going to interact in the first place, and then they feel watched and "oh god, if I don't reblog this, people are gonna think I don't support this artist—" and then people will often end up reblogging, giving into the compulsion to do so rather than because they want to, you get the Gist. It sounds irrational typing it out like this, but OCD is a disorder that feeds on irrational hypotheticals a lot.

I remember actually celebrating when vs Golem came out. i love terraria so much but stickman vs terraria genuinely has a big part in shaping my perception of the game – i think the only reason the twins are my favorite boss was because i found them really cool in the animation
