From the time Barnaby asked Edie to the Celestial Ball, it two the two almost a year and a half to finally get together. Officially, they began dating in late into their fifth year. It took Edie nearly a whole year to recognize that yes, she is in fact crushing on her fellow Slytherin. And for that whole year, Rowan relentlessly teased her bestfriend friend over that unfortunate fact. Truthfully, Edie was doing her best to avoid these feelings. The whole idea of a relationship - having someone so close to her and being so emotionally vulnerable - it scares Edie. It's everything her instincts tell her to flee from. But she trusts Barnaby. So maybe it won't be all too bad.

“Why do you only kiss me when I’m sleeping?”

It’s mumbled from Ryan as the two lay together in the late hours of the night, the bright lights of the city leaking into the room. Geoff’s head was burying against Ryan’s chest, Ryan’s arms wrapped around his waist. It was quiet, as quiet as the city can be at least, as they curl around each other.

“I don’t only kiss you then,” Geoff protests weakly.

“You mostly kiss me then,” Ryan retorts.

“It’s cause you’re wearing your fucking scary mask all the time!” Geoff huffs. “I can’t kiss you when you’re wearing that thing!”

Ryan bursts out laughing, the sound filling the room and pulling a soft smile on Geoff’s lips. “You can always try to kiss the mask instead,” Ryan points out.

“Fuck no,” Geoff shakes his head. “That thing is evil, I’m not kissing it.”

“Come on, Geoff. Don’t be mean. You’ll hurt it’s feelings.”

“It’s plastic, it doesn’t have feelings!”

“You don’t know that,” Ryan smirks. “The mask has a mind of its own,” he adds cryptically.

Geoff just shakes his head. “Creepy motherfucker,” he mumbles.

“But at least I’m your creepy motherfucker,” Ryan chuckles.

“I suppose you are,” Geoff grins, leaning over and stealing a soft kiss.
