Okay so I’ve been obsessed with genji overwatch’s backstory for a while now. I love daydreaming the exact details of what sort of angst went down the day he “died,” how he could have survived, the exact motivations and scenarios behind his choice to go through cyberization and help Overwatch, etc etc etc. It gets as specific as dying to know how exactly he was injured, how hanzo felt in the present moment as it happened, how he felt about hanzo around that time, how he even got to a hospital, what exactly was causing his life expectancy to be so low until cyberization, whether he was happy to help Overwatch, whether he could walk again shortly after rescue or if it took a while, etc etc etc
Basically I just wanna see it all and know every juicy little detail. I love angst and major character death,what can I say. Unfortunately, according to the wiki, almost no specific details about the event are known
Fast forward to yesterday, my brother and I are playing Overwatch, and he suddenly goes “oh hey there’s an official animation for this jpop collab on YouTube btw”
“I don’t care”
“It has genji and hanzo fighting”
“Wait. The fight? Like the fight??”
“Yeah”
“You can see it???”
“Yeah it’s right there, at least some of it. I heard that’s the main theory since they’re not in training uniforms or anything”
I’m immediately asking what they’re wearing, how they seemed to be feeling, how violent it looked, etc. I wanted screenshots too, but he got frustrated and said to just watch it myself
So we pause the queue and I look it up. And when I tell you I went insane-
