Johnny Vincent Fanfic: She is All Hart
Chapter One: Welcome to Bullworth, Miss Delilah Hart
Delilah watched closely as the lady walked through the Bullworth entrance to greet her. From her assumptions, this woman seemed very snippy and reminded her of her aunt: wanting things to be perfected at all times.
"You must be the new girl. Why, it is such a rarity to get a female arrival here at Bullworth Academy."
The girl was unable to pay attention as she noticed in further distance three boys in polo shirts chasing down some kid who was smaller in size. Unsettled, she could no longer watch, hoping the he would escape them.
"I am Miss Danvers, the school secretary here at the academy. I'm here to escort you to Dr. Crabblesnitch's office. He is the school principal and may I add a brilliant man." She explained, regaining Delilah's attention. Trying to be friendly and resorting to no conflicts on the first day, she attempted to introduce herself.
"Nice to meet you Miss Danvers," she returned the introduction formally, "I am De-"
"Miss Delilah Hart, we are already aware of that."
She knitted her eyebrows in confusion, feeling creeped out. Miss Danvers however didn't seem to care one bit, as all of her worries were on making Dr. Crabblesnitch happy by leading her to his office.
"Anyways, come along now child, we haven't got all day."
She followed her into the school, almost hesitant after what she saw earlier. The boys and the kid had disappeared in sight, making the girl fret that she could possibly be next. And if anything, she could at least handle herself. Not the best fighter around, she could still protect herself from any enemies she may come across in her time here.
From nearby she exchanged eye contact with a couple boys dressed in a long sleeved, forest green sweater with white collars. They furrowed an eyebrow, skeptical of the new girl. If there was one thing about the Academy, like Miss Danvers had said, the male to female ratio was uneven. The amount of boys were exceedingly high compared to the girls here, so many of them fought over who would date her. They treated them like objects, and not as people. Except for a certain someone that attended the academy.
"This is the main entrance of the school," Miss Danvers pointed out, drifting her away from her thoughts again.
The closer she approached the school, the more she realized how humongous it was. This school must of been at least three stories tall!
She continued to follow her into the school to see another student who was much younger walking through the school. She was dark skinned, with tight black curls placed in two buns on the top of her head. She wore glasses, which were perfectly framed across her baby face. She noticed the arrival of the girl, rather ecstatic about her presence than she expected to be.
"Hello! You must be new!" She greeted with a warm smile.
Miss Danvers, who personally liked the younger students better than the older students, chimed in.
"She is new." She clarified.
Before she could say her name, Delilah introduced herself so it was more formal and not at all awkward.
"Nice to meet you! I am Gloria Jackson. Finally, another female student here at Bullworth!" She exclaimed, earning a smile from Delilah. The younger child left, skipping in glee to her civil rights class.
"Isn't she a delight?" Miss Danvers spoke fondly of Gloria as they were now making their way up the flight of stairs. Delilah cocked her head back, noticing the Bullworth logo plastered on the tiled floor of the facility. It was radiant in hues of blue and gold, aesthetically pleasing the girl as it coordinated with the tan tiles.
Miss Danvers had lead her to the office at last, where Delilah peered around. It felt cramped to her liking, displeasing her surrounding.
"Dr. Crabblesnitch's office is right back here. Go ahead and enter, I will be right back in a jiffy."
Delilah watched Miss Danvers exit the office, who struggled to run in her heels. She turned her attention to where she faced the entrance to Dr. Crabblesnitch's office.
"Here goes nothing..." She muttered under her breath. She pulled on the door handle, lunging it forward to where it almost met with her face. There she spotted a man who seemed to be way older in age compared to Miss Danvers. He had watched her carefully, already knowing what the girl had intentions of doing, as according to his presumptions.
"You must be Miss Hart, I take it?"
"Yes sir," she answered, nodding her head, "I am. And you must be Dr. Crabblesnitch?"
He formed a smile on his face, folding his hands together against the cherry hardwood surface of his desk.
"Why yes, Miss Danvers has already told you about me?" He suggested.
"Well sit Miss Hart, which chair it doesn't matter."
Obeying his instruction, she sat in one of the chairs present in the office. She faced him parallel, meeting his eyes. In front of him was a stack of papers that read her full name, with a picture of her from her yearbook picture at the previous school she attended in Indianapolis.
"So, Delilah," he began, having mixed feelings about this girl, "according to your past record, you seem to have a disrespectful behavior. Graffiti on the walls, vandalism on town monuments, and kicking soda machines?"
She bit her upper lip, guilt triggering the girl.
"Yeah," she spoke, fiddling with her fingers, "but that was the old me sir. I promise, at the time I was going through-"
He stood up, slightly frightening the girl.
"The school does not care if you were going through a hard patch in your life Miss Hart, if there is one thing we absolutely do not tolerate at this school, is disobedience and disruptive behavior. We praise the respect and maturity at this school solemnly. You are to follow the rules and statistics of being a good citizen. During your attendance here, you will be kind to every one you meet. We cannot stress the value of good behavior anymore than we possibly can."
Delilah remained back in her seat, hating his lecture. Because of her stupid aunt now he was going to be skeptical of the girl no matter how hard she met his standards. How pathetic.
"You understand?" He asked.
"Good," he said, cooling down and sitting back in his chair again, "I am glad you understand. From your behavior on your first day at Bullworth, I'm sure you will do your best to be a good student here at the academy. Just remember you are required to continue to do so."
She nodded in response, no longer saying much. After that it didn't take too much time for them to almost end the meeting. They went through everything such as her class schedule, dorm room number, and school uniform.
Miss Danvers finally popped into the office, holding a tray full of tea and cookies on it.
"I see you have met the wonderful Dr. Crabblesnitch, Miss Hart." She observed with a wide grin on her face.
"She has been a good young lady so far, definitely a better treatment than Mr. Hopkins."
Delilah raised an eyebrow. She wasn't the only new kid here?
"Indeed," she agreed, settling the platter on his desk, "and I got your tea along with cookies. I made them just for you."
"You are so good to me Miss Danvers." He took one of the cookies, accepting it graciously.
"Not good enough." She whispered, even though she had already went out of her way to treat him to the tea and cookies in her consideration. Remembering Delilah's presence, who was rather awkward watching these two flirt with each other, Dr. Crabblesnitch waved her off.
"You may leave now young lady, and remember to keep your nose clean, or we will clean it ourselves." He reminded her.
She stood up from her seat, clenching onto her belongings once again. She was now at the door, ready to exit when Dr. Crabblesnitch interrupted her.
She swung her head back, curious as to what he had to say next.
"Welcome to Bullworth Academy."
