what is the extremely obvious thing here in this ending. the amanda demon right. ohhh yknow the same one JOANNE encountered? the same one that ATTACKED HER and left a deep scar in her face?? the same one that was involved in her girlfriends coughcough friends DEATH???

now look at these quotes again.

“Riley?” she’s just generally checking on us, as she does every while or so. mind you she’s already concerned for riley as she does realise they’re taking a huge risk by just being there. perhaps she sensed something was off and felt the extra need to hit us up.

“…Riley?!” we didn’t respond. she gets louder. maybe we didn’t hear her. reminder that the demon is a lil trippy and keeps making these sighing noises for no apparent reason. it starts making these noises as well as moving and cricking its joints. this alerts Joanne’s attention.

“Riley, ARE YOU OKAY?!” we haven’t responded for a second time. now she KNOWS somethings wrong. she’s having a bit of a hard time with not knowing if we’re okay and hearing those familiar sounds.

“RILEY! GET OUT OF THERE!!!” the demon rips apart the toy. as it does this its sighs are louder and more aggravated. joanne is in distress and panic now. she knows where she’s heard that sound before. she tries to get our attention one more time by telling us to run, but it’s just too late.

hearing the demon again gave her insane ptsd flashbacks from the Kate incident. she realises her mistake of leaving us in there. her voice grows louder in panic and fear as she doesn’t hear us from the other end of the radio.

nooo nonono listen. think about it canonically tho. this is basically a reverse version of the true ending. she probably either ran in to get riley, or had to listen to them being ripped apart by the demon. sound familiar? imagine her going back in there once it’s safe just to find their scratched up corpse…

Joanne says it’s been a long time since Kate’s seen her. The library was the only place she felt safe. She’s grateful to her for being someone she could trust.

Kate told families with younger kids to watch Amanda the adventurer. Jordan watched it. Did Kate recommend it to Joanne?

imagine this. Kate and joanne are childhood friends or something, whatever the point is they knew each other from long time. Joanne visited the library often it seems, and found comfort there (more like comfort in KATE you gay ass-) implying Jordan also went there. Jordan perhaps knew kate, surely he would run into her a few times. By all this paralleling wouldn’t Jordan know Rebecca, if kate knew Sam and was close with Rebecca? But what about joanne? Does Rebecca know joanne? Is that why amanda dislikes her?

If joakate have met before, and joanne trusted hers why did she wait TWO YEARS to tell her about the Jordan incident? By then any real investigation or shock would have died down. Either they kinda fell apart as friends and lost contact or joanne wanted to keep it from her for some reason. Like if u think about it kate would be one of the first people she would reach out to for condolence over this devastating situation. Two years later, she asked kate for help. Either they spent some time investigating together or this is immediately before the kate incident.

The fact joanne said “my little brother Jordan” and not just “Jordan” implies kate didnt know him that well. It’s like “oh remember my brother?” Rather than “so yknow Jordan right”. Also she specifically stated he was watching the show. The show kate told EVERYONE ABOUT. Surely joanne would’ve said that to her before? Like “oh btw he rlly loves that show you told us to watch it’s great” but no. This implies joanne and kate def drifted apart at some point. Not necessarily as friends but just in terms of contact and maybe where they live, they never hung out as much.

Also consider the very obvious kate fact. She’s going insane wit these bitch ass tapes. She must have had a period where she completely shut herself off from the world in fact this is MORE THAN LIKELY, nives actually put lore and lore together and proved this I think. Perhaps her and joanne WERE close, but kate slowly stopped talking to her + everyone but no one ever questioned it? Maybe joanne thought she was busy with work or just became less social. And then she was in a dangerous position and reached out to Kate after years of breaking up (see what I did there) for help, kate was the only person she could think of who would be willing to do something like this for her.

It’s not even just about the trust thing, it’s about the kate thing in the first place. Joanne said she HEARD about Kate’s “other work”. Who the frick frack nick nack ass crack FUCK did she hear this from. The same mf who told her to destroy the tapes??? Or maybe even Kate’s coworkers? It literally all depends on the timeline atp.

Wouldn’t joanne be wondering why kate was even doing this in the first place? Why was she investigating the tapes of this seemingly friendly show she TOLD everyone about in the first place? Why did she have a whole work around this? What’s her goal? Except joanne didn’t fucking ask questions maybe oh no. Hunny she’s insane too. Her bitch ass marched all the way down to Kate’s yard, broke the door down and was like “gimme them tapes MUTHAFUCKA”. She didn’t even have the damn time to be askin kate what her ass was up to. All she cared about was her brother, AS SHE ADMITTED. She didn’t care about her or Kate’s wellbeing, only Jordan’s.
