Like, I love the idea of Natasha and Bucky, but I kind of see them as a forged couple.
Like, they were tortured and going through the worst days of their lives and that relationship became the Something Good. Something that was theirs. But like, it wasnβt a healthy kind of love. It was the crush you have on a mentor or a hero, the love you have for chocolate when youβre on a diet. The idea of it is what gets you through the tough time, but when the tough time is over youβve got to admit that itβs not as good as you thought.Β
Iβm not saying that they didnβt love each other properly, or that Iβm against buckynat (because my dream is for my children to be happy), but Natasha moved away from the idea of loving Bucky because it was another life to her.Β
And unfortunately, she seems to believe that the whole concept of love has to be left behind too.Β
And with Bucky, I think, in my mind, that he seems his love for Natalia as the happiness in the darkness, and 1.) he doesnβt think he deserves happiness and 2.) heβs not in the darkness anymore.Β
Iβm not saying that I think Clint and Sam become a steady and playful way to show her love or that Bucky sees Steve as his sunshine, but ...Β
