most heather ships are so good because heather is such a well written character that her goodness rubs off on the people around her. every characters beat moments involved heather in some way. aleheather, heathney, gweather, lesheather, the list goes on! you could ship heather with jo or anne maria and it would still be good! though i prefer a lot of heather ships platonically like h-bomb, hizzy, deather, codether, heatherra, whatever justin and heathers ship name is, etc, i still think they’re fun in concept because i love the idea of heather having so many friends!!
the only heather ships i hate personally are the ones where she’s shipped with someone overly nice and innocent like lindsay or owen or something…it just feels wrong. other then that, the rest are pretty good!

June stood outside her car as she waited for Finn to come out of practice. They had officially finished training half an hour ago but there was still no sight of that damned red head. June rolled her eyes - he took forever in the shower. She leaned back, perching on the hood of her car as she waited, pulling out her phone and sending Finn a text.
Hurry up I’m hungryyyyyyyyy
She glanced up from her phone and oh sweet divine, have mercy on her, because damn, no joke, the most beautiful woman she had ever seen had just walked out the door. June would like to say she did something smooth, she had a reputation to uphold, damnit, but that all went out the window as she just stared.
And then the woman saw her. And started walking over.
Fuck she was walking over.
“Um, hi, this is going to sound so strange, but are you June?”
June just stared at her with wide eyes, realising after a couple of blinks that uh, yeah this woman couldn’t read her thoughts and she had to, you know, verbally answer.
“Yeah, yeah that’s me.”
The woman smiled and June was so glad she was leaning against her car because her knees nearly gave way.
“Cool! Sorry, this probably seems a bit strange to you - I’m Heather, the sports psychiatrist! Finn and some of the other boys have talked about you a bit and,” Heather paused, scrunching her nose a little. June nearly died. “I don’t know it just felt like I already knew you? That sounds dumb, I know.” She laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, flushing a little.
“That’s not weird!” June blurted out, having absolutely abandoned any attempt to seem suave. “It’s pretty cool actually.” June took a breath and smiled. “I’ve heard about you too. But hi.” June held out her hand for Heather to shake. “Since we haven’t officially met.” She said with a wink as Heather giggled, shaking her hand.
Not to be dramatic or anything, but June was pretty sure her hand was quite literally made to hold Heather’s.
“Would you… Would you maybe want to get a coffee sometime?” June asked, praying her voice wasn’t shaking. Heather bit her lip and smiled.
“Yeah, yeah I’d really like that.”
