Jayce planted his feet and turned towards Viktor, hands on his hips. “You know, it’s always bothered me how you would do that.”
Viktor glanced up. “Do what?” He shrugged, pretending not to know.
“The hot and cold,” Jayce accused, stepping up to him, “The teetering on the edge of something. I can see it now.” He stared Viktor down firmly.
Viktor evaded his gaze, making a good show of looking bored and disinterested. He straightened up only to shuffle away, on the pretense of shifting his weight more comfortably. “I don’t know what you mean,” he replied airily.
“So coy all of a sudden,” Jayce grunted and remarked, “But when I was just a stranger, it was so easy to tell me exactly what you wanted.” His eyes narrowed, but then he saw a flash of pink on Viktor’s cheeks and his lips spread.
Jayce glanced around unnecessarily, the alley way was deserted and unnoticed. Still, he lowered his voice as he stepped even nearer, cornering Viktor now against some shipping boxes. “I think you still want what you wanted a second ago,” he murmured, deliberately planting an arm to cut off Viktor’s escape. He leaned his weight over Viktor, not close enough to touch, not quite, but enough that he was sure Viktor felt his body heat, enough that Viktor would have to look up at him, chest to neck to face, to confront him.
