Hmmmm.......

I think we can all agree that Jinx is still alive.

So naturally, the question is: where is she? There are a few clues, hints, and a whole lot of theories.

Warning: wall of text.

Let’s start with the most obvious theory: Bilgewater.

I mean, the place fits Jinx perfectly. Bilgewater is the ideal place to disappear, and you could even assume that Jinx may have been there before.

But that’s exactly why I believe she is NOT there.

Why? Come on. All the clues and hints pointing toward Bilgewater almost scream fake bait to me. I’m pretty sure they’re deliberately trying to lead us down the wrong path here.

So let’s move on: Demacia.

And here I’ll say it very clearly: no.

Demacia would probably be one of the worst places for Jinx. She simply wouldn’t fit in there at all. Sorry, Lightcannon fans.

Demacia has a strict anti-magic policy and is extremely suspicious, almost paranoid, when it comes to magic. Jinx, with her Shimmer abilities and Hextech gadgets, would basically be a walking bomb there and would almost certainly be hunted or persecuted.

Now let’s talk about Noxus.

The idea isn’t that far-fetched. Mel is already in Noxus, and I could imagine Jinx somehow ending up there as well. More on that in a moment.

I noticed that Jinx was being watched by ravens almost the entire time. And I’m pretty sure those ravens are connected to Raum, or Swain.

Swain is a pragmatist. He gathers talent, strength, and power. And in his eyes, Jinx would be extremely useful. Especially because of Hextech. Aside from Jayce and Viktor, Jinx is probably one of the biggest geniuses in that field.

So it’s entirely possible that Jinx sooner or later ends up on Noxus’ radar — or even somehow ends up there herself.

Now let’s get to the theory that, in my opinion, fits best from a narrative perspective:

Jinx is in Ionia.

Maybe she’s there to think. To find herself. To make peace with herself. To heal.

But: Ionia is in conflict with Noxus.

So Jinx, while searching for healing and peace, could end up being dragged into a war. She could unintentionally become a symbol of resistance again — just like she did in Zaun. Maybe it starts small. She repairs things. Helps people. Builds protective mechanisms. And little by little, she gets pulled deeper and deeper into the conflict.

And honestly, that would be narratively really strong.

We would have Mel fighting in Noxus. And Jinx, more or less willingly, joining the resistance in Ionia.

That would already connect two central Arcane characters — but on opposite sides of a much larger conflict.

Then there’s also the theory surrounding Jhin, who, according to some fans, may have had possible cameo hints in Arcane, for example the pianist. You see someone play four notes on a piano, and later you see a soldier fire the fourth shot for Loris. Jhin is obsessed with the number four. That fits this theory at least suspiciously well.

Jhin hates Noxus. So it’s possible that Jinx and Jhin could meet in Ionia and maybe even work together for a short time.

But: Jhin sees killing as an art form. Jinx, on the other hand, might be trying to break out of that exact cycle. Those are two completely different directions, and that contrast shouldn’t be ignored.

So I don’t think the two of them would become best friends. But the possibility that they could cross paths in Ionia is definitely there.

Now let’s get to the final theory:

Jinx isn’t in any of these places, but somewhere else entirely.

That’s also possible, of course. But for me, the Ionia/Noxus theory, with the war and Jinx’ possible search for healing, fits best.

As a fic writer, I would probably write it exactly like that.

Vi can’t hate your job, not really. She never would’ve met you if you weren’t widely known around the world, flying from place to place to sing on multiple stages. Never would’ve taken the job of being your bodyguard.

But it doesn’t stop the want to pull you away from it all.

From the fans screaming at the barricades, reaching their hands out to try and touch you or get you to take a photo with them to the edits and even the fan fiction online about you.

She wasn’t jealous. No, never. She was the one who had you after all. Cuddled up to her chest in bed in the morning, shaking beneath her as she sucked your clit into her mouth.

They would never have that.

So she had to put up with standing against the stage, watching all the screaming, the shouting, the flashes of peoples phones trying to get the best photo of you to put all over the internet. Had to try not to glare at people approaching you in the street, watching you wrap your arm around them for a photo she has no doubt is going on that persons wall.

That’s just fine. She had her own photos of you anyways.

A pretty little picture stuffed in her wallet to look at whenever she wanted. A polaroid stuffed behind it of you flushed and covered in marks whilst lying on your bed shirtless. Lipgloss smudged.

Sure the fans make you smile and laugh and have fun. But they will never make you scream. No, that’s for her only.

Young Caitlyn confiding in Jayce for advice because she wants to be the support system for once. Young Maddie following Caitlyn around the city as often as she could like a puppy, developing a little crush along the way but never having the confidence to confess her feelings.

Commander Kiramman selecting her childhood friend onto her new team because she never stopped believing in her, and Junior Officer Nolen doing everything she can to prove that she made the right decision. All the while, hiding the ache in her chest that appears whenever Vi is with Caitlyn...

Gnawing at the bars of my enclosure as I imagine Ambessa convincing Maddie that Caitlyn is the enemy, that all this time she's suffered and had to go through years of unbearable torture (training) just because of her. Just because of Piltover. If Piltover didn't exist we wouldn't have to do this, I wouldn't have had to put you in this position if Piltover just met our demands.

And you know that feeling sometimes when you're in a horrible mood and everything is wrong and you just jammed your finger and people are being stupid and you just wanna yell and scream and knock everyone out that gets close to you because in your mind they're the reason this is happening?? That combined with knowing that if Maddie does this then she'll be free because she did what she was supposed to.

In the brief moments Caitlyn is kind to her she feels human and whole again but then she's dismissed a second later, reduced to nothing in the blink of an eye and that anger just builds and builds because Ambessa was right and you are horrible to everyone around you and to me. I'm doing everyone a favour by doing this because everyone here hates you.

WAITER WAITER!!! More people acknowledging that Maddie is a complex Character that can be interpreted in plenty of different ways please!!

The experience of growing up with psychosis. Or another 'scary' disorder. When you're small, the outbursts and strange behavior are easy to ignore. People don't like to think of little kids as dangerous so even if they're conditioned to find psychosis dangerous, they'll find some way to make the kid innocent.

"they're just a kid. This isn't them, I know them. It was just a bad day. They have trauma. They'll outgrow it."

But when all you outgrow is a sweet face?

Then you're dangerous. Nothing about you has changed but your size, and now your condition makes you evil. Now you're an adult and adults are all dangerous anyways so an adult who talks to themselves should just be put down.

And it's equally bad - to ignore symptoms because someone is a kid, is as bad as demonizing them when they're older. It's two sides of the same coin. All part of the same process.

Everyone but Silco wanted Jinx to be someone she's not. This idealized, quiet, waiflike, symptomless version of the girl they knew. Nostalgia is a powerful drug, and Vi and even Ekko got hooked (although Ekko's distrust of Jinx is valid since she kinda killed some of his guys). It's like they took everything they remembered about how life used to be and put it on her shoulders.
