a jasipereo fanfiction, hopefully short but idk, i’m just writing as i go
We need to talk. That was a terrifying sentence. Especially coming from Jason’s two partners.
But he knew this was coming. The two of them had had a great thing going before he came around and got between them. They’d finally realized that they didn’t need him. He didn’t fit in.
Knock, knock. KNOCK KNOCK knock KNOCK KNOCK.
That was Piper. And then Leo. Gods, he even knew their knocks. This was gonna hurt a hell of a lot worse than Jason thought. He let them in.
Piper held Leo’s hand. She looked... beautiful. It wasn’t like she didn’t usually, but you know what they say; you want what you can’t have or whatever. He took a moment to take her in, memorize how she looked before she’d leave him all alone. He noticed every mole, every stray hair that didn’t fall into the two braids over her shoulders. He noticed how much he loved everything about her, even the things she didn’t. He loved the way she walked around with bare feet, the way she carried herself, her uni-brow- do you know how bad you have to have it to love some for their uni-brow??
And then he looked at Leo. Leo, gorgeous, genius, wonderful Leo. He studied every callous, every scar, every bit of motor oil that stained his skin. He noticed every freckle, his chipped tooth from an old machine accident, his acne. He noticed everything and more.
“Jason?” Piper touched his shoulder. “Are you.. okay?”
“I just... I’m sorry... I know... I know what you’re gonna say, and I understand, and I-”
“You knew?” Leo asked, eyes wide. He looked almost... scared.
“Yeah, everyone does. It’s so obvious.” Jason sniffed. He brushed Piper’s hand away.
“That’s rude,” Piper said.
“Well, you can’t just say that to someone. Most people are really self-conscious about how much they ‘pass’ and shit. I thought... I thought you’d know better.” Piper had her hand placed on Leo’s back. It was an almost protective gesture, or comforting.
“I mean yeah, gender roles are all made up, and passing isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing. Or a thing at all. It’s complicated, but you can’t just-”
“Pipes... What does you breaking up with me have to do with gender roles??”
Leo suddenly had his arms around Jason.
“What the hell is wrong with you?! Why would we- God, you’re such an idiot!”
Jason was confused. But he hugged Leo back tightly, his hands gripping Leo’s T-shirt tightly.
“What.. did you.. want to...” He tried to ask, but he was so relieved he couldn’t get the words out.
“I’m trans, Jason. And so is Leo, actually. We just thought you should know,” Piper answered. She sat beside the two of them and wrapped an arm around Jason’s shoulders.
“Oh. Oh, okay. I’m... cis, Piper.”
“We’re gonna talk about that ‘breaking up with you’ though,” Leo said.
Jason nodded. He was so happy they still loved him. And they trusted him. And...
“Oh, that’s why I’ve never seen you shirtless!” Jason accidentally said out loud to Leo.
idk if this made any sense but i liked the concept
and yeah, they will relentlessly make fun of jason for his last comment, as they should
