I love that this little movie has such a different formula and pacing from the rest of the show. It's such a nice little side adventure which really allows the girls to exercise more independence and display a broader range of their personalities. Natalie and Tootie's side quest with a washed up author. Ms. Garrett's struggle with self doubt and feelings of inadequacy in an area that she has always experienced as a strength. Blair's perspective shift on authenticity and learning that her self worth doesn't have to be directly tied to how people view her. And finally, Jo, out of everyone, Jo shined the most in this film. She went off on her own determined to see a car show and unexpectedly found love along the way. However, with love in a foreign country also came heartbreak. She had to choose between staying with a man she was smitten with and returning to her normal life back in America. When Blair sees Jo hugging him goodbye and quickly pieces together what must have happened while the group was apart, she knows that Jo is truly hurting. This scene in these pictures where Blair shows Jo genuine understanding and reassurance while diverting the rest of the group away from Jo to protect her in this vulnerable state, ah, it's just so beautiful. I absolutely love their friendship.
