Genre: High Fantasy / Romance / Court Intrigue
Word Count: > 48k words (in progress)
Possessed of a rare gift long dismissed as myth, you harbour the ability to divine using the literal threads of starlight that form the tapestry of time. When your sacred power finally draws the attention of the palace, the royals summon you to the capital and give you the title of Nursrava, the voice of the divine light. Once you arrive, you expect to live out your days in quiet service to the royal family.
Instead, you discover that the kingdom is on the brink of a collapse. A desperate crisis is unfolding beneath the palace's majestic facade, and your power makes you the ultimate prize. You are no longer a guest but rather a pawn caught up in the struggle between those who seek to exploit your power and those desperate to protect you and your precious gift.
Within the palace's vast stone halls, those you choose to mingle with may decide your fate. Whether your growing closeness arises from a forbidden glance during an encounter or a whispered promise in the dark, you must choose whom to trust with your life — and your heart.
Amidst the swiftly crumbling politics of this kingdom, you are the only one who can see the truth — but in a court built on lies, the truth may be more dangerous than you realize. As the walls close in, you must decide: will you surrender to the duty expected of you, or risk everything for the one who finally captures your heart?
Choose your gender (male, female, non-binary), physical traits and the gender(s) you are attracted to.
Shape your personality to reflect the kind of Nursrava you want to be.
Pick one of four potential romance options (either all male, all female or a random mix of genders): The Silver Tongue, The Exiled Sun, The Silent Shadow or The Celestial Anchor.
Shift the balance of courtly alliances and choose how involved you want to be in the kingdom's future.
Sameer/Samira [m/f]: The Silver Tongue (moodboard)
A lithe, kohl-rimmed blur of wit and charm, S is the palace's "necessary evil". The reformed thief who now deals in information, they navigate the royal court with a cynical charm and a sharp-edged attitude that is as much a weapon as it is a garment. They have no patience for "destiny" or the "divine", preferring to trust in the daggers at their hips and the opportunities they make for themselves. S is unpredictable, resourceful, and entirely too fond of a well-timed double entendre.
Devraj/Devika [m/f]: The Exiled Sun (moodboard)
D enters any space like a summer storm — all heat, noise and with undeniable magnetism. As the Citadel's most-loved military instructor, they wear their larger-than-life charisma like armour. They don't shrink themselves for anyone or any space, favouring bold laughter and storytelling that borders on the legendary. While they claim to be guarded against the nobility that view them — and their tumultuous past — as a threat, their generous heart is as open as the training grounds they command.
Najim/Nejma [m/f]: The Silent Shadow (moodboard)
Observed but rarely and truly seen, N is the quiet heartbeat of your daily life in the palace. Clad in the functional uniform of a bureaucratic aide, they are a master of the understated — always present with a cup of herbal tisane for your headaches, or a path cleared of obstacles for your ambitions. There is an intuitive stillness to them and a physical grace hidden beneath the facade of a civil servant. N speaks little but sees everything, moving through the court's shadows with a loyalty that feels ancient and absolute.
Jai/Jaya [m/f]: The Celestial Anchor (moodboard)
A figure of towering, lean elegance, J moves through the palace with the unshakeable gravity of the constellations they chart. Draped in heavy silks and accompanied by the rhythmic chime of gold jewellery, they represent the pinnacle of traditional scholarship and courtly prestige. As a master of astrology, a precise and logical discipline that relies upon mathematics, they are inherently suspicious of your esoteric sight. To J, the universe is a series of solved equations, but you are the variable that threatens to break their proof.

... So, it starts with a transmigration, obviously. Shen Yuan insults Airplane and dies of rage, or drowning, or because the System said, "Oh, oh, that little gremlin! I want him!". What matters is that he dies. But he doesn't die completely, because he awakens and isn't dead. Surrounded by a gauze canopy, old furniture, in a setting more typical of a historical drama than a hospital, he quickly realizes that he has just transmigrated. Long live a second chance!
Except that when he has a moment to consult his new and recently acquired System, he discovers that he is in PIDW, and not just in the post-ending—
He also realizes that now he is…
...an imperial master of the Emperor's children
...a demon "courtesan" in charge to spy on the court to report to the Emperor
...a minstrel demon in charge of the harem's entertainment
...a servant of an unfavored and not very smart wife
your partner frowned. you two were sitting at your desks, filing paperwork after a few hours on patrol.
scaramouche was already irritated by a spectacle he could only name a 'fumbling' of your part earlier in the day.
you had let a culprit get away.
your partner was ranting about a chief he'd worked with and you were listening. in the corner of your eye, you noticed the culprit---the burglar that you two had spent days trying to find---walking away but scaramouche was getting passionate about his talk and he would've killed you if you spoke!
so you just decided to let the guy get away.
scaramouche got a headache just thinking about it. he would've yelled at you, for sure, but was letting the culprit walk away any better?
he sighed, closing and rubbing his eyes. you had very little common sense. the common sense you did have was only given to you by your fears so it wasn't even common either.
"what, y/n?"
"are you mad at me?"
"very."
after his words, he just went back to writing his forms. you just sat there, at your desk, staring at him.
you frowned. you didn't really know your partner that well. he was always so rude and strict---it was hard to believe you actually liked the guy.
"like, really mad?"
scaramouche sighed again. loudly this time, so you could hear. "yes, i'm so angry. it's almost impossible to tell you how angry i am at you right now."
"is that... sarcasm or are you serious?" you sulk.
your partner set his pen down.
he stayed silent, collecting himself before turning to see you eye to eye. "are you seriously asking me this? what are you, twelve?"
you scoffed, looking away. you took your own pen in your hand, tapping your forms and trying to seem unbothered by his question. "jeez, it was just a question... you take things too literally."
the detective beside you gave you a side eye. he obviously didn't believe you. he didn't say anything however, merely going back to his work.
you also went back to your work, internally killing yourself over that embarrassing interaction. at least you initiated the conversation today!
the silence was okay until a fellow officer barged in with an entire group of guys in handcuffs.
the white-haired man sat all of them down while his black and green haired partner went to reception to call them in.
you watched in amazement as cyno handled them so effortlessly. scaramouche looked at your reaction and scoffed. "go back to doing your work, idiot. that'll never be you."
"rude." you mumble under your breath.
your partner rose an eyebrow. "what was that?"
"nothing."
after you had become an officer, you were involved in an incident. it was related to your mother but, unlike her, you survived.
you could do things like that, you knew. you had done things like that.
now, though?
you frowned at the thought of it.
your mother was a detective that worked in organized crime. she had a partner you still didn't know the name of. you only saw her at the funeral you hosted---being your mother's only family to host it.
she gave you a pat on the back and that was it. you never saw her again.
you sighed.
the group of handcuffed men spoke between themselves in hushed whispers. you had no clue what they were saying, their voices muffled by distance, but you saw cyno laugh.
you hadn't seen the guy laugh ever so it was a shock.
his partner, tighnari, came back and noticed. he sighed and shook his head.
"stop being so immature, man." tighnari groaned. he frowned, looking away from cyno before meeting eyes with someone.
he smiled, "hat-guy! i haven't seen you in a bit."
you saw your partner freeze in his seat and then grumble. "i told you not to call me that."
tighnari turned to cyno, "you do the paperwork." ignoring his partner's gasp, he walked over to you and scaramouche.
he had... gentle eyes.
"yes, yes, i know but consider it pay back." he joked.
your partner's frown grew but ultimately, he sighed. scaramouche leaned back in his chair, turning his attention to him. "alright, sure. what do you want then? you're not just walking up to me to say hello."
you watched the interaction in silence. you didn't know scaramouche knew these guys personally...
tighnari nodded, his smile still there. "you're right. i need a small favor."
"hell no." scaramouche scoffed immediately, crossing his arms. "i'm not helping your charity case."
the officer furrowed his eyebrows. "do you mean collei? no, i don't need help with her."
"then with what?"
tighnari took a small slip of paper from his jacket, handing it to scaramouche. "this. a station down in inazuma needs more officers to help in a case. me and cyno were requested to come but we already have commitments up here."
scaramouche frowned. he looked at the slip of paper, reading its details. you shifted in your chair to try to see what it said but your partner stuffed it in his coat pocket before you could read a word.
he glanced over your way, giving you a strange-looking face, before turning his attention back to tighnari. "can't. me and y/n are busy."
tighnari looked a little shocked. "y/n?" his eyes moved from scaramouche to you.
you immediately felt uneasy. you awkwardly waved, then---out of first hand embarrassment---turned to the side, pretending to go back to your work.
both your partner and tighnari gave each other a look before going back to their own conversation.
"i'm sure i could ask our captain to transfer your responsibilities onto one of us." the officer smiled.
scaramouche frowned. "i thought your plate was full."
tighnari's smile stayed on his face. he didn't budge at all, like he had some upper hand on your partner.
you felt scaramouche's pride fight internally before he eventually sighed, mumbling some curses under his breath. "fine. we'll get on it tomorrow."
"oh, actually, they need you both asap."
you both blink.
"w-what? like, now?" your eyes turn to the clock on your desk. it was currently 10:32 p.m..
tighnari nodded. "their station's really close to a hotel that does walk-in's." he turned to your partner. "unless someone has an objection?"
scaramouche gritted his teeth. you had the idea that he was going to start yelling and causing a scene like he normally would but instead he didn't.
he stood up and put his hands in his pocket. he turned to you, still seated at your chair, and frowned. "c'mon, get up. we're leaving."
you stayed quiet, trying to process this plot-twist. "h-huh? wait! don't we have to tell the captai--"
before you could finish your question, tighnari answered it. "oh, that's not a problem. i'll handle it."
scaramouche glared at tighnari for his interference but didn't say anything towards the guy. he looked back at you, grabbing your arm firmly.
"now, let's go." he pulled you out of your chair. "you're driving."
"what?!" you gasped. he pushed you away from your desk and tossed you your car keys.
tighnari watched you two interact, a faint smile on his face. he watched scaramouche push you to the exit and lingered a little while.
"are you usually this mean to them?" he sighed, crossing his arms.
scaramouche looked at tighnari and glared. "i'm not mean."
"sure, you aren't. you okay, though?"
the purple-haired guy scoffed. "stop interrogating me." he grabbed two coats and a coffee cup that definitely didn't belong to him, already on his way. "after this, i don't owe you anything."
tighnari smiled. "don't i decide that? you shot me, remember?"
scaramouche froze in his place. he groaned, glaring at the younger officer, "it was an accident. i apologized already."
"i haven't forgiven you yet."
your partner stayed quiet before scoffing and turning. "whatever. see ya'."
"later. come back intact."
you flinched as your partner slammed the car door shut. he threw his jackets in the back of your car and placed your coffee cup in your cup-holder.
your hands were sweaty on the steering wheel as an awkward presence filled the car.
scaramouche broke the silence first. "are you going to drive?"
you gulped. what did tighnari tell him that has him so aggravated?
"you... you don't have your seatbelt on." you whispered, tapping your finger on the wheel.
your partner stayed silent. he turned to you, slowly. "...are you serious?"
you took a deep breath and nodded. "yeah." you didn't dare look at him, instead 'fixing' your rearview mirror.
he was contemplating cussing you out. like, actually.
what kind of idiot are you?
scaramouche opened his mouth but shut it quickly.
he scoffed at himself for being so easy before tugging on the seatbelt on his right side. there was a rather loud 'click!', confirming his action.
you stayed quiet---you didn't actually think he'd do it. was he being kind?
"are you going to drive now?" he glared at you.
that bursted your bubble real quick.
"y-yeah..!" you said embarrassingly loud, voice cracking as you fumbled with the gearshift.
oh brother.
the ride was quiet. with you anxiously driving and scaramouche scrolling on his phone, there wasn't a lot to talk about.
you still tried, though.
"so..." you started. "can i ask why you were so adamant on saying no?"
"mind your business."
"right."
your lips turned into a thin line. you figured he just didn't want to talk about it but you didn't know why and that was killing you.
your attention turned to him instead of the road once again when he yawned. "oh, are you tired?"
he put his phone in his pocket and frowned at you. "i'm tired of your voice."
ah.
that... definitely hurt your ego but you prevailed. "you can drink some of my coffee if you need to." you smiled.
your partner's frown deepened.
he looked away at the view outside of the window. you two had been on the road for an hour and fifteen-ish minutes so it was dark. the trees and streets were illuminated by the lights of cars passing by on the road.
"worry about the road rather than me, y/n."
"r-right!" you sat up straight, eyes directly on the road.
he crossed his arms and closed his eyes, leaning back onto his seat. he had a small smile on his face.
you didn't notice.
you stayed up, continuing to drive where your gps told you to go until you hit a border checkpoint.
there was a long line of cars coming in and out. there were some officers there, wearing a different uniform than you and scaramouche had to wear during your rookie days.
you hadn't been in inazuma in a while due to personal reasons and just seeing the familiar place made your heart drop. your hands trembled, gripping tighter onto the steering wheel as the cars in front of you moved forward.
it was eventually your turn.
an officer tapped on your window's glass. you rolled it down, trying not to seem awkward and smiled.
the officer didn't give you one back. "what's the purpose for this visit?"
they seemed cranky. probably because they were working at mid-night instead of sleeping.
you brush past it. "oh, me and my partner here got called to work with the tenryou commission." you point to scaramouche, hoping that the officer won't think he's dead or that you kidnapped him because he's asleep.
you squint as the officer turns on a flashlight and shines it in both of your faces. scaramouche's nose scrunches and he shifts in his sleep, turning his head towards his window.
the officer's eyebrows rose. they looked shocked for some reason.
they turned their flashlight off, putting it back in a holster or something. they tipped their hat faintly, looking away. "sorry for disturbing you two."
you shake your head, smiling. "it's fine."
the officer just nodded at your reassurance. they stood there as you started driving, watching your car leave.
you felt free, knowing that the officers don't remember you.
even though you still remembered the incident, the city had forgotten. you doubt anyone remembered, actually.
you kept your window down, letting the cold breeze of the night brush against your face.
staying up always felt better than not being able to go to sleep.
you contemplated turning the radio on but scaramouche was asleep---he'd kill you for waking him up.
you smile a little, thinking about your partner.
you yawned. you grabbed your coffee cup, drinking the rest of the now-cold caffeine.
placing the cup back in your cup-holder, you glanced at the gps.
you two were close to the hotel and the station.
you smiled. you're glad that the location hadn't changed. much of inazuma hadn't changed from when you last lived there.
it looked entirely the same.
you looked at your dashboard. your car also needed gas.
you sulk. you hadn't expected a trip out of your nation so you hadn't filled up on your tank.
the hotel was really close by but could you make it in time?
what are you going to do?
get gas - if you don't make it to the hotel, something bad might happen.
go to the hotel - you'd rather sleep in a warm bed than your car.

‹𝟹 summary: You get home after a late night shift to see that your bum! husband Toji is nowhere to be found.
‹𝟹 fandom: jjk, jujutsu kaisen
‹𝟹 genres / warnings: misogyny
‹𝟹 tags: SFW/NO SMUT, misogyny, cheating, you are megumi's mother
‹𝟹 notes: This is an interactive fanfic. There will be elements that you need to click through in order to progress the story. You swipe your badge ID and clock out. Another grueling night shift at the local county hospital ER finished. There was nothing too horrendous this shift, aside from your favorite patient coding around midnight. You made your rounds, checked on your patients, and conversed with your coworkers to pass the time.
You sigh, exhausted. You pull out your phone as you walk to your car, and shoot a quick couple texts to your husband, Toji.
Just got off! Shift was terrible but I’m ready to be home and see gumi and you 🤍🤍🤍
On the way home :3 See u soon sleepy
You unlock your car, and get inside.
---
You walk up the steps of your house. It’s not the fanciest, but it’s a quaint and cozy little place that you call home. It’s the perfect neighborhood for raising a child; it’s peaceful, quiet, and has a good school nearby. It isn’t much, but it’s yours. You work your ass off in the night shift just to afford it, and it’s worth it. Anything for your family.
You yawn as you unlock the front door. As you step in, you notice the eerie silence. By now, you should see Toji sitting on the couch, watching some random show and drinking a morning beer. But he isn’t in his usual spot.
You make your way deeper into your house. You go to check on Megumi, and see him sleeping peacefully in his little toddler bed. You smile gently as you watch the rise and fall of his little chest as he breathes. This is perfect, you think, He is what makes all of this worth it.
You gently close Gumi’s bedroom door, leaving a small crack open so you can hear him if needed.
You make your way to your bedroom, and notice the door slightly ajar. The ceiling fan is still going, the covers of the bed are strewn about, and you notice something light up in the corner of the room. You see Toji’s phone, but you don’t see Toji.
That’s odd. He should be here, watching over Gumi and taking care of him.
You walk over to where his phone lays on the nightstand, and open it.

Please visit https://milkpup.neocities.org/phone for the interactive phone portion of this fic! Take this time to explore Toji’s phone, and then come back for the rest of the fic!!!
---
As you look through the final app and turn his phone off, you feel anger boiling in your chest.
Fucker couldn’t even remember to bring his phone when cheating. Almost like he wants to get caught. Fucking bum.
You can’t believe what you saw. Not only did he leave your child alone in your house, where anything could go wrong, but he has repeatedly done this while you work night shifts just to support your family!
Even though Toji contributes nothing financially, and barely as a parent, he still has the fucking audacity to be unfaithful! You pay for everything! The fucking bills! His gambling addiction and alcoholism! You even send him a fucking weekly allowance just so he has some spending money! And what does he use that money for? Fucking DoorDash and onlyfans! And don’t forget the absolute audacity to transfer money out of your SAVINGS ACCOUNT just to pay his fucking mistress!
He acts like he has money to give, meanwhile it’s YOUR fucking money! He’s a fucking bum and women believe his lies. Worst of all, you married this idiot of a man. The sex was NOT worth it. And while you did end up with the joy that is Megumi as a result of this relationship, you feel betrayed. You were willing to sacrifice anything and everything to keep this family afloat, and Toji pissed all over it!
The pain isn’t even the infidelity. It isn’t because he used you either. The real pain comes from the fact that Megumi has a piece of shit bum ass loser of a father, and he has a mother who was too dumb, blind, and infatuated to realize it.
You decide this is the last straw. While you’re out working grueling hours, Toji is getting his dick wet with some random woman he probably met on Snapchat! And the kicker? Women don’t actually want him! They just want his “money” because he’s a “hustler”! You think back to the fact that not one person matched with him on Tinder, and you feel like even the universe is laughing at him in that moment.
---
You wait. Hours go by. You’re exhausted, but you still wait, sitting on the couch.
You don’t watch anything on TV. You don’t read. You don’t look at anything. All you can do is stew in your anger and wait for this fucking animal to come back, just so you can tell him you’re leaving.
You hear keys unlock the front door, and you look up, smiling at your husband.
As Toji walks in, he locks eyes with you. “I want a divorce and full custody,” you say, not a hint of anger or resentment in your voice. The calmness of your voice is unsettling, and Toji’s bullshit smile fades.
‹𝟹 notes: please let me know if there are issues using the interactive phone portion, or if you have any comments/suggestions. I learned html, css, and js just to make this :') and it took me a few days to complete. If y'all enjoy this type of content, I may try to make more interactive fanfics in the future.
