No, she works behind the scenes, making sure everything is functioning properly — crossing t’s and dotting i’s.

❛ Last meeting of the day and hopefully a painless one. ❜ Brianne starts, a briskness in her voice and her high heeled step after returning from her own board meeting to be demeaned as Mr. Montague’s assistant once more. The Director of Marketing owes her big time for this effort. 

The current need is a briefing before sending him in to talk with the branch president. 

❛ The branch president is already smitten with your work so it’s just a matter of taking accolades. ❜ Well, at least she hopes. The other meetings produced enough detours so her certainty here is feigned. But positivity first, always.

Halted before him, eyes zero in on his shirt collar, lazily unbuttoned two down as if he got overheated. Mr. Montague’s entropic style hardly matches the sleek corporate halls of Arasaka Tower. Here it is all cool, sharp, practical luxury. No line out place. A deadly elegance to power through the boardroom. Of course, guests are given a reprieve but not completely.
