In honour of #selflovesunday here’s a truth I’ve come to realize... When I get sick (got knocked down with a cold a couple days ago), inevitably it’s a sign that I am focusing too much on the outer world and not enough on my inner world. Being busy “getting shit done” is my default, but what really keeps me grounded and in the flow of my life is taking the time to connect, be still, self nurture and do the things that really make my heart sing. It’s crazy how counter intuitive it can feel sometimes to make space for that stuff. And how sometimes I have to get sick to slow down and really take care of me. I wanted to share this in case anyone can relate. I think we live in a culture that champions pushing and sacrificing more than nurturing and caring for oneself. Making time for little joys and stillness and feeling GOOD about it, not guilty. The more I connect with my inner self and move through life from that place, the more the doors open, one after another, like magic...until boom, I walk into a wall and then realize I’ve disconnected again. That’s life, falling off the path and finding your way back on, one step at a time, heart open 💗 What little joys fill you up? I hope you make space for them and for YOU today 😘 #youreworthit . . . . . . . . . . . .
