Play Trash Crab on Itch.io (desktop only)
A game about a scrappy crab defending the oceans from pollution.
My dev friends and I made a game for the super retro Nokia 3310 Game Jam! Pixel art is unfamiliar territory, let alone on a tiny 84 x 48 pixel grid with only two tones, but it was a really fun challenge! Let me know your high score! 🦀
Simple visual quality switches in settings give nice fps boost for devices with lower specs ~
ofc this is not the best to demonstrate with highly compressed gifs for tumblr xD but I wanted to share tis anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Light At The End is completely free to play Android game I’m working on: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.immortalpig.late
I’ve begun work again on my vertical jumping game.....Yayy!!!!!
There is so much wrong with this game I forgot how broken it was. Hahahaha. However I have a battle plan to start chipping away at problems.
Firstly making the platforms not all spawn randomly. It will still be procedural generation however it will be done in groups of platforms rather than single ones. This will make it easier to design and keep the game continual.
The second thing is I am going to fix the jump of the character, it was horrible (still is). Fixing the jump will be much harder and take a bit longer because Im not a total wiz programmer. But we’ll get there in the end.

The idea for this one comes from a brainstorming session we did in my design class and involves combining the gravity switching of VVVVVV, the colour switching from Hue and an infinite runner.
So now to go into a little more detail and to show it off below.
The gravity mechanic was the first thing I implemented and for now, the player can only switch after they hit the ground. The reason for this is so that the player cannot constantly switch gravity and just hover in mid air.
Though I have an idea for a future part of the game where there are only obstacles and the player just wraps around the screen, though that will be designed a little later on if it fits into scope at all.
Next was a little bit of level design so I could tweak the movement speed, gravity and to get an idea of how far platforms should be spaced apart from one another to make the game challenging but not unfair. Though I feel a round or three of testing will help with this a lot more.
I then went and added death zones and resets, not much to say here outside that it needed to be done.
And finally implemented the colour switch which turns off the collider of the platforms the opposite colour so the player has to manage which way they are falling along with what colour platform is coming up.
Next step, get it out to a round of feedback and testing.
Prototype of a two players infinite runner in the space. It still needs lots of work, I should implement some more mechanics such as the partner’s resurrection. But meanwhile you can check this trial version clicking on the image. Player one is controlled with the mouse and player two is controlled with any key on the keyboard.
Difficulty is increases as level progression and the enemies change
consequently aswell.
