#arcade game

For those that don't know, I'm doing a bach in game design and i just published my very first video game!! This was for a project management class and was the final assessment for the diploma section of my degree, and every element was made by animation, music and games students.

What was originally supposed to be a group project, all original team members (except me) dropped the class half way through the trimester so I had to scramble, outsource and collab with other students to pull together a game with a bunch of mini games in half the allocated time frame. We originally designed 8 mini games and even though I only managed to get 2 complete, i'm still super proud of the cute little space game I made with some pretty cool people. Check it out!

Game 111: Logic Pro May2026 I really do love Nonograms, but there is a problem with setting them as an arcade game. Not only is the timer very demanding on the player, but the pressure to sit there for roughly 2 hours just to see a Gorilla turn into a different type of girl just isn't very compelling. It make more sense if this was more perverted or even just easier to playthrough, but the game simply demands too much of your time for any given setting it has.

Logic Pro essentially has 14 puzzles you have to do in a given sitting, 8 of which are fairly easy yet random puzzles, and 6 for a latter given country you choose that are always set completely the same each time. While the first 8 will probably only take you roughly 30 minutes to get through, the last 6 take the majority of the game's time. At over half the run time of the allotted 2 hours I played it, making it roughly 75% of the game for a given run. It's not even that these puzzles are particularly hard, they simply have a strict timer and require more work than usual to go through. In any given scenario, but an arcade setting, I think Logic Pro works well enough. Being able to save your time at the half way point to tackle it on later or simply just taking your time to enjoy the puzzles in a different kind of layout to adapt the game from its arcade roots. Sadly, Logic Pro is very much an arcade game, and what turns an once enjoyable leisurely pass time into a stress inducing headache as you try to solve it faster than you usually would, leaning heavier on reckless play for time saving over perfect playing. This kinda ruins what Nonogram tend to be, and in a way feel more like a exam than anything fun to outright play. Compare it to the likes of a simple math pop quiz that has a lot of questions, but they're all easy answers. There is a sort of satisfaction of rapidly answering easy questions correctly, and can even help show off your skills to it. Logic Pro sadly as a more of an exam view to it where you're sat in a room for a set time trying to finish all the answers to puzzles that you just met for the first time and only basic knowledge to get you through to work out each given problem.

so this is Jelly Rush and I need you to understand: you play as a squishy 3D jelly blob, and the entire game is you trying not to get launched off a platform by a spinning bar or a giant boulder. it's chaotic. I love it.

wait, what even is this

it's a time-attack obstacle course runner, kind of Fall Guys energy but no other players, no queue, no server — just you, a timer, and 10 stages of increasingly unhinged physics. runs entirely in your browser too so there's nothing to install.

each stage looks completely different too. you start on this neon skyline thing, then it goes full purple chaos zone, then icy blue canyon vibes. genuinely didn't expect the aesthetic to shift that much stage to stage.

controls (in case you're already sold)

WASD to move, SPACE to jump, R to restart, P to pause — on desktop. mobile has a directional pad + jump button so you can do this on your phone in line somewhere, which. I have done.

you get 3 falls per stage before it counts as a fail (or if you blow way past the target time), but retrying is instant — tap retry or hit R and you're back in within seconds. so the stakes feel low even when the stage design is not.

things I've noticed while playing

19 different physics hazards total — spinners, breakable floors, trampolines, seesaws, pendulums, conveyors, ice patches, magnet walls, actual cannons. the last stage throws basically all of them at you at once and it is a Lot

12 golden jellies hidden in every stage, auto-collected as you run past. chain them together and you build a combo multiplier

star ratings: finish = 1 star, beat the clock = 2 stars, beat the clock AND grab every jelly = 3 stars

collected jellies unlock permanent character skins and they don't get "spent," they just keep stacking, so no reason not to try every skin

everything autosaves locally, no account needed, just close the tab and come back later

tag yourself, I'm the ice floor stage

honestly the ice sections are the real final boss. momentum carries way further than you expect so oversteering just sends you straight off the edge. small early corrections > panic turning.
