To make honey, you first have to open up the honeycomb before placing it into a centrifuge. Removing the wax is very satisfying. Enjoy.
Beekeeper by Jem Cresswell
my second love 🥰
Bienensterben
My first contribution to Month of Fear 2020 for the subject "Trick" (I made it, yay!). The founder Kristina Carroll rightly said that we should hold back on the fear this year. Nevertheless I had to take the opportunity of being a little frightening: my inspiration was Colony collapse disorder, German Bienensterben, the fact that bees are dying all over the world and we haven't fully understood why. While Einsteins alleged quote my not be genuine that humans will follow bees' extinction within a few years, it's yet another serious issue we haven't solved. So my take shows a benign person providing some magical food for the poor things.
22×335cm, oils on acrylic pouring on cardboard. This painting is painted in oils over an acrylic pouring that shows through in many places. You can buy it on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/881332321/bienensterben-month-of-fear-2020-trick

Because many people apparently liked the photos of the plants in my neighbourhood last time, I've decided to put some effort into sharing some pictures from my garden & neighbourhood during the lockdown, for the less fortunate without a garden!
Yesterday was a sunny day perfect for working in the garden and we have a lot of bees in our hotels (I'll count them later)! Also, if anyone recognized any types of bees or beefillings, tell me please! We spend the day rebraiding some plants, the leftover we used for crowns lol. And our olive plant is starting to blossom!!! My father cut some wood and he found the abandonned honeycomb from two years back when we decided not to cut the woodblocks because some bees had nestled in there. All the bees made us want to drink some tea with honey and now u know where all the pics come from!
But most importantly:
FURRY BEEBUTT!!!!
