Does anyone else wonder what the hell is up with Jeff Davis and single parents/only children? Is he just too lazy to write any other family dynamic or...?
Think about it. Every single character on Teen Wolf who's not a straight-up orphan either has divorced parents or one of their parents is dead. Stiles' mom, dead Scott's parents, divorced Lydia's parents, divorced Isaac's mom, apparently dead since he was left on his own after the kanima killed his shitbag abusive dad Allison's mom, killed on screen Derek's dad...??? never mentioned Derek in the movie, has a son but no mom is ever mentioned Boyd and Erica's parents...???? did they even have any? Jackson, one of the only two shown to have two parents at home, is a spoiled douchebag and then just disappears from the show until the finale. Kira, the other one with two loving parents at home, also abruptly written off the show
And why are they all only children? Sure, Chris, Peter, Derek, and Malia had siblings, but let's go through the list again, shall we? Kate Argent, unhinged mass murderer who literally only survives to be A Problem. Talia Hale, dead Laura Hale, dead Cora Hale, shipped off to South America and forgotten Malia's sister (can't remember her name), dead everyone else: only child. oh, and Deaton's sister. survived but vanished when she was no longer useful, like Cora.
It's nowhere close to being his most egregious writing choice, but the pattern is just so... ????? dafuq?
