I heard somewhere that a cat only meows because they hear humans making noises at each other and want to join in.
It doesn't actually mean anything.
So I take immense satisfaction when I get to pass a meow back and forth between my cat because we are effectively just going "Wah❤" at each other.
Also, despite being two different species we have effectively bridged a gap in communication even if the words don't mean anything. We learn from each other.
Even if we don't use actual words, a loud sound can mean: "I'm hungry," "I want attention," or simply "I am here," from the cat.
And theres something so special about that to me. We care about each other so much we want to do the things the other does to reach a common understanding.

Okay, on one hand, the back to future episode wasn't nearly as bad as the promo suggested. On the other hand, I am not emotionally prepared to go two weeks with Lena content.
So.
I think I’m going to split First Christmas into three chapters, each in the 5000-5500 word range, for easier reading. The whole story is going to be 16,000+ words, and that’s just too much without even so much as scene breaks as a designated place to pause and rest.
And I think I’m going to post the chapters every other day, with chapter 3 going up on Christmas Eve, to give people a chance to read each one before the next one comes out. I’ll probably post each chapter in the late-ish evening, California time, so depending on how far east you are of me, it might in fact be the next day.
Which means I am going to post chapter 1 tonight. Just as soon as I can get it formatted and tagged on AO3.
