(Not complaining haha. I love all of this stuff, I'm glad to see underconsumption become more normalized again)

- growing our own food. I know I talk about this a lot but I really truly believe it's one of the best skills you can learn. Growing produce is awesome

- thrifting!!!!! Oh my god, I love thrifting. My family lives just on the poverty line so we never had much money for new books, toys, clothes, etc. so we thrifted everything. Almost every single item of clothing I own is from a thrift store. My whole house is decorated with antique stained glass pieces and 70's decor. Live laugh love thrifting

- decor- We made a lot of our home decor as well as holiday decorations. I have fond memories of making popcorn strings, felt banners and paper chains every time a special event came around

- DIY- I know diy has always been popular, but it seems to really have gotten trendy lately. Anyways. We made EVERYTHING. We were taught how to patch our own clothes, make our own stationery, carve our own toys out of wood. It was never forced upon us- we had toys and books, but diy was something my family was very enthusiastic about

- living an analog lifestyle- books, board games, playing outside. We only had one piece of tech and it was a monitor we could hook up to our ancient Wii that our friends gave us, or to my parent's laptop to watch movies. Growing up we were VERY analog; it helped that I live in a very tiny town in canada where there's lots of forests and wildlife to explore. I have very fond memories of spending hours out in the woods building forts and foraging for wild blueberries during the warmer months.
