The sinful woman (from the Holy Gospel) washed the Savior's feet with tears and wiped them with the hair of her head, and the Holy Apostle Peter, going out from the high priest's courtyard, wept bitterly because of the words of his denial. We must, however, take heed that not every sorrow is a sign of pure repentance. There is also false sorrow, which does not come from repentance, but from ambition and self-love. For example, when someone is crushed and wails for fear that their sin might be discovered and they would be put to shame. This happens to proud people, who do not weep because they have grieved God through sins, but weep for fear that their abomination will be revealed and they will suffer shame. They lament and pray to God (not for forgiveness), but to deliver them from the shame of men (that is, to cover their sin). And if such people are assured that their sin has not been discovered, then they forget the sorrow and follow the old ways once again. Likewise, those who have heavy unconfessed sins, when they reach some mortal danger, then you see them crushed and lamenting bitterly. But this sorrow is not according to God, for it is changeable.

It comes only from the fear of death, and not from pure repentance. The one who has true repentance does not wait for a serious illness or other great danger to repent, but always repents and seeks to confess, without reaching a state of danger."

Envy and hatred are not moral defects, they are automatic systemic signals. Somebody else’s gain is very often your loss not just psychologically, but materially, in noise, crowding, price rises, or opportunities taken.

For millennia, our organism was trained to detect this: in small communities, food, shelter, and mates were scarce, so another’s advantage meant less for you. That wiring never left us. It is not that we “envy” but rather envy happens to us, like pain. It strikes, because our body knows that every gain carries a hidden cost for others.

They don't speak a word about the violent persecution of Christians by Islamic jihad. They don't care about Christians being kidnapped, tortured, burned, and slaughtered.

But when there's fake news about the (((evil jews))) - they will regurgitate the heck out of it. If some jerks think its ok to spit at people - they will use it to blame the entire country and justify their obsessive hatred of Israel & its people. They will spread ancient blood libels about the Jewish people, and when called out for it they claim its all "legitimate criticism". But when it comes to true oppression of Christians - they have 0 criticism.
