Remus relaxed on the slightly sandy towel as he watched Sirius frolicking amongst the waves. They’d gone on holiday to Cornwall. Apparently, Sirius knew of a secluded beach where no one goes because you literally couldn’t get to it from the cliffs or from the sea, as the rocks were too close together, but for those who could apparate, it was no problem at all.
He chuckled to himself as Sirius attempted to dive through the soft but got swept off his feet and washed up on the beach.
“Oh, you think that’s funny, do you?” Sirius asked, swooping his tangled, wet hair out of his eyes. “We’ll see how you like it.”
Remus failed to react, not realising what Sirius was about to do until it was too late. Sirius scooped him up into his arms and walked them back towards the water.
“Sirius! Put me down!” Remus complained.
“As you wish,” Sirius replied, a wicked grin stretching across his face.
“Don’t. You. Dare!!!!!” Remus cried out as Sirius chucked him into the next wave.
He sank under the water, twisting his body until he was facing Sirius. He planted his feet in the soft sand and reached out, grabbing Sirius’s legs and pulling him under the water too.
They both rose, coughing and spluttering as they laughed.
They floated on their backs for a while, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the ocean water. Remus never wanted to leave, but Sirius promised him they could come here whenever they wanted and that made him feel a bit better.
They stood hand in hand, watching the final rays of the sun sink below the waves before they disapparated and headed home.
