Gunna do a wip Wednesday while it's still Wednesday over here— this is very much the equivalent of slapping my cheeks to hype myself up to get back in the fight. I got this (i dont got this)
Angie looked over the sparse shelves while Ricardo tried his best to start with small talk before getting to the point. He barely even registered what explanation he ultimately gave. They were out of their jurisdiction, but he was good at implying that he was law enforcement, law enforcement that was on duty and allowed to be there at least. Something about how they were looking for someone who 'may or may not' be related to an ongoing case, hush hush, yada yada. It wasn't the first time he'd been stupid about jurisdictional limits.
When he asked about the cameras though the cashier shrugged like none of this mattered.
"Sorry man, they're fake. The real deal are too expensive I guess, but my manager put these up maybe two months ago? Something about scaring off robbers. We had one, uh... last year? A robbery I mean. I dont really see the point, they only got like 40 bucks. And everyone knows it was just Dave and his cousin anyway."
Ortega almost cursed, but then Angie came up to the counter like a silver savior, tossing a packet of definitely-stale mini donuts onto it.
"Your manager thinks you're stealing. Or one of your coworkers. Those are real."
