You cannot argue with these people. Both my parents are anti-vaxx, anti-maskers, and I’ve had all the arguments in my head with them, but I haven’t bothered doing it aloud because it won’t persuade them. I kinda’ jumped down my dad’s throat once about downplaying the pandemic, and he shut up and now is careful what he says around me, but I know he’s still on his bullshit because my sister still has to hear it. I’ve decided I’m just going to speak in a really disparaging way about anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers any time the subject comes up, as if I don’t know that he’s one of them. Whenever he asks how work is going: “Well, the hospital is doing really poorly right now because a bunch of those fuckwit antivaxxers are overwhelming the ICU. Can you believe how fucking stupid some people are? They don’t want to take a safe, highly effective preventative against a deadly, contagious disease, but then they’ll go to the same people they claimed were morons for medical treatment when they catch said deadly, contagious disease. So glad the people I give a shit about aren’t fumble-witted mouth-breathers like those chucklefucks.”
