I will never not appreciate the specific way music touches us. I don't ever have the words for the swelling in our heart that happens listening to people singing, feeling the emotions flowing from them, the joy of people dancing, the gamut of joy, despair, hope, everything... It's a language that transcends every other - no matter the language someone sings in you can feel what they are, connect with it on a level so intimate, & they may never even know it resonates with anyone else the way it does them.
Music is beautiful. Music is our heart. Music is the language we hear, think, & feel in, when it really comes down to it. I don't know if it's a kin thing, and alterhuman thing, or what - but if you want to speak to us, songs are a huge part.
I'm grateful our ex helped us appreciate "sad" music. We used to avoid it because the feelings would consume us in a way that was... Very unhealthy in ways I can't put into words. If they were listening to a sad song, it was obviously about us & our failings, etc. But sad music, catharsis, feeling so intensely... It's such an essential part of the experience of being alive. I appreciate it now more than I ever did then. I might never be able to thank them, but I hope somehow they can know they really did impact us deeply & positively.
I don't know. Not sure why I wrote this. Adam has been listening to Gravity on loop most of the day, worried about Lute. His Lute specifically, & how he's going to handle season 2. We'll be there though. Always.
