This is as much detail as I’m gonna put into the background. The characters are still a work in progress.

ludwig absolutely fucking hates tattoos. he thinks theyre so jobless. unemployed behaviour. he is HORRIFIED whenever one of his siblings comes home with a new one.

he and kamek join forces to shake their heads disapprovingly. so unprofessional.

roy is tatted as FUCK. two full sleeves, his neck is covered, ribs done, and a tramp stamp. a tramp stamp? WHAT. nooooo. him? never. he definitely would never get a tramp stamp whilst super drunk after losing a bet. only an idiot would do something like that. and even if he did have a tramp stamp it definitely wouldnt say HOT STUFF in swirly font. thatd be kinda gay. he has a tattoo dedicated to wendy, its a magnolia flower (her favourite) in a more watercolour style, shaded in hues of pink, with her name underneath in her handwriting. he got it the second he turned 18 because wendy wouldnt let him get another underage tattoo. he definitely has that heart with the script on his neck that every man has. my own brother has this tattoo. its so man. i think his tattoos are surprisingly colourful for how badass he proclaims himself to be, he has one sleeve of badass bullet bill and manly chains and other hardcore images that remind him of the new donk streets he grew up around, and the other sleeve is a lot of floral imagery in shades of pinks and purples and reds. he says he got it because he thought itd look good. its for his mom. roy never talks about his life before the other kids. never. not even to wendy. his memories are crystal clear and hes terrified of losing them. the tattoo commemorates them. i think hed have song lyrics on his ribs, he likes jazz and rock and roll in my eyes so probably something from those genres. i have never listened to a jazz song ever (the closest i get is the sax riff in wasteland warrior hoots patrol) so i fear i cannot give you a specific example, but its probably from a song his mom liked and he later introduced to wendy. boom boom lowk may be his tattoo artist (hes an apprentice in training after working security at bowsers castle) and it is Definitely just to support his friends work and definitely Not just to have an excuse to be really close to each other.

lemmy has so many silly tattoos. i think he'd have a patchwork sleeve, a bunch of little tattoos that all come together to make an authentically lemmy landscape across his arm. a lot of his tattoos come from cartoons. he and iggy watched gravity falls together as kids and it is a core memory of theirs. he rewatches the show every summer. all his favourite characters get a feature. sprig from amphibia and the collector from the owl house are holding hands and skipping. fluttershy is at a tea party with pietro from animal crossing and lady rainicorn and they all have party hats on (the party hats are the trans pride colours). pompompurin has a propeller hat (the propeller hat is the pan pride colours). all his tattoos are so COLOURFUL and HAPPY and WHIMSICAL. he has an actual patch on his elbow because he thought it would be funny. it hurt so bad. worth it. lemmy has a favourite everything and he wants all of his favourite things on his body forever. his favourite flower (daisies), his favourite colour crayon (DANDELION i just know he loves LaKenzo), his favourite pokemon (mime jr), he wants all his favourite things on his body for the rest of time. he doesnt have many tattoos outside of his patchwork sleeve but he does have a rosy maple moth on his chest. something something metamorphosis. something something self acceptance. tops your surgery. the scars are covered with those party bunting banners. the little triangle flags on a string.

he and iggy also definitely have matching tattoos. something something its glep from smiling friends with each others hair.

iggy would make himself a tattoo gun and test it out on himself. there is a very shaky 'bugs is cool' across his foot. he has given himself too many bad tattoos for a guy with an iq that is definitely high enough to know better. ludwig was so stunned by this decision making that he just gawked at him in a mix of shock and horror as iggy presented his fuckass foot tattoo to him with the grin of a man who has just won the lottery. the only time ludwig has ever audibly said what the fuck to one of his siblings. honestly a very mild reaction when your sixteen year old brother builds a tattoo gun and tests it on himself with possibly the worst idea he could possibly imprint onto his skin forever. iggy thinks its HILARIOUS. hes given himself several tattoos. kamek is genuinely horrified. iggy says life is too short to not fuck around. he does have some genuinely nice tattoos done by professionals and not nutcases with too much time on their hands, he has a half sleeve on his non-amputee arm of different exotic and rare plants trailing up from his hand to his elbow. he has a lot of bugs tattooed on him. some bad, some good. he has a deaths head moth on his chest to match lemmys except more grunge. he has a matching pine tree with lemmys mabel star, as well as a lil bill cipher. lemmy has the nice gravity falls quote, iggy has REALITY IS AN ILLUSION, THE UNIVERSE IS A HOLOGRAM, BUY GOLD, BYE. i like the idea of cyber goth iggy so i think hed have some genuinely cool cybersigilism tattoos on his arm above the prosthetic. he likes doing fun things for body mods. ludwig thinks he will never get a job. honestly likely but thats more to do with his personality and general demeanor than his billion piercings, split tongue, and impulsive tattoos.

I'm currently about 23% ice cream. Give or take. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

This week brought a definitive start to hard pants and hoodie season.

I'm choosing to ignore the ominous foreshadowing that is the airline, out of the blue, offering me a $25 credit to switch my flight to Phoenix on Friday.

It was nice to see Renee Rapp at not-SOMA, even if it seemed a bit like she'd rather have skipped tonight.
