so with edvard, his closest amongst the 5 is definitely rees, if not him, then kadio. him and rees are complicated, and always have been. them two being my pre-canon ocs means they have known eachother longer than any of my other ocs would have, and rees basically has known who he was at a young age while edvard hasn't and still doesn't. rees is open about being queer while ed struggles with accepting his conflicting feelings of homosexuality, which leads to a complicated relationship between the two in terms of just general friendly likeness, something more, or disgust/dislike.

despite these feelings though, ed can admit rees would be the one he trusts the most, if anything, just for the fact he has known him the longest. as far as kadio goes, this is kind of going to be a repeating thing, because i purposely made kadio the best guy in the whole world that everyone likes lol (think of a character like perrito). but we'll get more to who kadio "favors" (though barely) when it's his turn.

with canon characters (the main cast), his closest were bronwyn and millard. bronwyn is the type to always try her best to make everyone feel welcomed, and even though she can be a bit ditzy and wrong about some things, ed appreciated the attempts made to make him feel like he belonged. as for millard, they just were similar in a lot of senses, being a person that isn't really there, or at least not seen as being such; they related to one another, and both overall had similar interests in writing (even if ed couldn't do it himself anymore, he liked to watch and listen to millard write/document).

this is going to sound...really boring lol...but rees feels closest with ed and kadio. rees basically has liked ed from the start of them meeting (even if it wasn't the greatest circumstances), and has always admired his will and strength given that he couldn't do much of anything. it lowkey was a love at almost first sight kind of thing! which originally, he wasn't even supposed to be gay. it literally happened as i was making his relationship chart, and i was like "wouldn't it be so awesome if he was gay for this ghost that cant talk or touch or do anything because that would truly mean that he is loved for who he is" and boom here we are.

with kadio, i decided to make them best friends. rees is someone that kadio looks up to, and generally id say they have a hugh/enoch sort of relationship but if enoch was the happiest kindest person you've ever met. im sorry i keep repeating myself with kadio and how awesome he is but it's true idk lol. in peculiarium it should be normalized that a 17 year old and 13 year old are best friends gosh dang it!! because funny enough, kadio is actually older than rees; kadio was born in the 1890s while rees was born in thr 1920s, soooo....

with the canon cast, him and victor were best friends. he was around before victor passed away, and left the loop before so as well. they both are strong, kind of dumb little fellas that i think would be strong and kind of dumb together, peas in a pod. plus i like the fact that they both have/had crushes on two peculiars that are similar in terms of being seen (one is invisible and one is a ghost lol).

abrilianna is complicated; she has some weariness towards anyone she meets. Though she generally likes people, out of the ocs ive shared so far, there isn't one that is her "favorite". She simply is ok with all of them, not feeling anything too special towards any. Though she does feel a little less towards rees because of his overly energetic and somewhat rude nature (even if it is in a way that he either means it as a joke or doesn't register that he is being rude). when we get to the last couple of ocs i have left, you'll see that there are some people she cares more about. but as of right now, they are all just pretty ok in her book.

same goes for our canon gang of characters, though the two she feels a little bit more connected to and respects are fiona and emma; both are older females that are strong and strong-willed, something that abril is. id say more so respect for fiona, especially learning what she went through.

so...marion is kind of a diva lol. she is into people that can match her energetic and can-do energy, and doesn't really like those that aren't similar to her. though she also has a leniency towards other woman, #girlboss; she almost always respects any older peculiar woman due to being shunned for her work ethic. that doesnt mean that every woman will automatically like her though, and if that's the case, she can still respect them without liking them (her and emma have that relationship). out of my other ocs, her favorite is abrilianna for the reasons said above, though she also pairs well with rees.

with the canon folk, she's like that of abril in the way that she is generally cool with almost everyone (except enoch and millard, who do not like her and therefore she does not like them, plus they are either too mean or too "boring" for her taste). also like abril, her favorite person if she had to choose would be fiona; strong poc women supporting other strong poc women! though tbh, i made/am making all of my ocs like and respect fiona, because she deserves it. if i could go back, i would change some of marion's arrows to be more yellow, like i think her arrows toward bronwyn and horace would be straight yellow (bronwyn is a girl yes, but she's not older than marion so the whole "respecting older women" thing doesn't exactly apply here).

lastly, kadio. he's a tough one to talk about because as ive said already, he likes everyone because he sees the good in everyone. literally on his relations picture every single arrow to and from him is green lol. but there are some other colors mixed in there! as i said above, him and rees are best friends. though he also really likes abril, and finds her super cool, even if she is quiet or seemingly "nonchalant" at times.

similarly, he quite literally likes everyone that is the main cast lol, even enoch, who is both green and yellow meaning that he likes him but is a little weary of him (green is like and yellow is neutral). though one character that he likes more than everyone else is horace. now, i kind of giggled when i did this, but there is a little bit of a different color that wasn't labeled on my color meaning chart (or idk whatever you call it) that kadio has towards horace.

if they were to meet in canon, i think it would be really cute if kadio had a sort of little crush on our boy. i didn't plan to add this at all, it was really a last minute decision i made for a "couple" of reasons, though there is one main reason. the unimportant reason is because its silly and cute LOL idk 😭 i just think two sweeties being together or having little crushes on eachother is cute (though you see that the pink is only one sided lol). but the actual reason is because of the crush horace had canon on a poc that was much older than him (julius). kadio is 13, the age that i see horace as, and while he isn't similar to horace in regards to fashion, he is similar in other ways and respects horace and his commitment to fashion. about it being one sided, i also did that on purpose; it shouldn't have to be shown through a crush that horace is queer, we can pick that up from other various details. so as much as i would love for my silly loving oc of mine to have a little romantic chemistry with my silly loving favorite character of mine, i decided to make it more realistic and not play into stereotypes (though if kadio was real he would be a much better crush candidate than julius by an infinite percent).
