watched Jojo Rabbit for the first time with the boys last night. atulya warned me she hates it so much but i was like i have a higher tolerance for liberal bullshit if it looks cool plus i love atrocity kitsch. when i say this movie was soooo revoltingly stupid. the jokes were just like - what has become of us. (atulya -“‘well THAT happened’ but the holocaust.”) i kind of thought the problem was supposed to be like soft on nazis or sort of antisemitic (both somewhat true) but actually it was much more just like suffocating neoliberal sentiment swill like. culture is so over. it is OVER. we are doomed

they're trying to block social media in russia so im downloading a vpn to use twitter (my mom also can't use facebook) and while i was waiting for the vpn to download i decided to check if tumblr still works and lo and behold yes it does. obsessed with tumblr simply not being a big enough to deal for the government to block it

we’re really at the point now where the only gay rep people will entertain is either 100% perfect unproblematic soulless characters that completely sanitize and defang the actual identities theyre meant to be representing OR something that has to perfectly align with someone’s personal experience in every way or else it’s Different and Bad and Wrong, because obviously no other people exist outside of your own personal experiences…. it’s so fucking grim
