È strano..pensavo di averla superata, di essere io quella forte e lui quello solo, il che lo è perché ormai ha perso tutto, vive da solo nella periferia di Milano in una casa in affitto con la sua compagna, con cui ha una relazione disfunzionale.

Però oggi mi sono sentita rifiutata, da lui. È una sensazione che non provavo da circa sei anni e pensavo non sarebbe più ricapitato, di riprovarla.

L'avevo provata anche in passato con l'ex marito di mia madre..sai quando da piccola pensi di far parte di una famiglia, anche se non è tuo padre?

Poi cresci e non sei proprio in una famiglia, anzi, sei sempre stata la 'figlia di..'

Per carità, alla fine era un estraneo e si sopravvive comunque, però quando senti come se fossi la 'figlia di..' davanti a tuo padre, come ti comporti?

Oggi ci teneva a dirmi quanto mia sorella fosse brava, di quanto si stesse impegnando per trovare un lavoro, di come lui quando va ogni settimana a trovarla le vorrebbe dare dei soldi che lei rifiuta perché è 'umile' e gli dice che già li ha e gli fa tenerezza.

Sono contenta per mia sorella, non fraintendetemi. Se lei può avere un padre presente, anche un minimo, io sono la persona più felice del mondo.

Ma perché mio padre stava parlando della figlia come se io fossi una sua amica?

Perché ne parlava come se io non lo fossi?

Perché io non ho avuto mai nessuno che mi dicesse brava, che venisse a trovarmi ogni settimana?

Perché, escluso il mio ragazzo, se morisse mia madre non potrei appoggiarmi a nessuno?

E questo mia madre l'aveva già capito..e ci ha tenuto a dirmelo quando ha avuto dei problemi di salute 'il mio problema non è tua sorella, tanto se muoio c'è il padre che in un modo o nell'altro farà, il mio problema sei tu perché se muoio sei sola, non hai nessuno..'

Frase detta con amore e premura, ma oggi mentre mio padre parlava con me di quanto bella, brava e tenera fosse la figlia, io ho sentito quelle parole come un'eco, per tutto il giorno.

Ogni tanto sparivano ma tornava quando lavavo i piatti, mentre stendevo i panni, mentre pulivo casa, mentre fissavo il vuoto in metro.

E mi sono sentita talmente stupida che non ho neanche detto nulla al mio ragazzo, probabilmente perché sarei finita a piangere come ora e penso che siano tutte lacrime sprecate, così come questi pensieri rivolti ad una persona inutile come mio padre: sprecati.

Eppure oggi mi sono di nuovo sentita piccola, schiacciata da quella figura enorme e rifiutata, con l'eco in desta del 'il mio problema sei tu perché se muoio sei sola, non hai nessuno..'

Carrie Anne Fleming, a Canadian actress whose face became warmly familiar to fans of genre television across three decades, passed away on February 26 in Sidney, British Columbia. She was 51 years old. Her death, confirmed by Supernatural co-star Jim Beaver, was the result of complications from breast cancer.

She may not have been a household name in the flashiest sense of the phrase — but that almost makes it worse, doesn't it? Because Carrie Anne Fleming was exactly the kind of performer who makes a show feel right. The kind whose presence you notice even when she doesn't have the most lines. The kind you don't realize you'd miss until she's gone.

Born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia, Fleming grew up with a genuine passion for the stage, studying drama and dance in Victoria, British Columbia, before turning to modeling to support her family as she worked her way into the industry. Her early credits included a role in the action series Viper and an appearance in Adam Sandler's beloved comedy Happy Gilmore — proof that her range was never limited to one corner of the screen.

Her career found its groove in the world of horror and the supernatural, and honestly, it suited her beautifully. In 2005, director Dario Argento cast her in Masters of Horror, where she took on the title role in the episode "Jenifer," playing a disfigured woman with deeply unsettling tendencies — a performance that required serious commitment and left a mark on anyone who watched it.

But perhaps the roles that endeared her most to fans were the ones she carried with heart rather than horror. On Supernatural, she played Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer — a character portrayed with quiet, aching tenderness that made Bobby's grief feel real and devastating every time it resurfaced.  And then there was iZombie, where she appeared as Candy Baker across all five seasons of the series — a consistent, grounding presence in a show that many fans hold close to their hearts.

The tribute from Jim Beaver, who played Bobby Singer and shared a deep personal connection with Fleming off-screen as well, said everything about the kind of person she was. He wrote of losing her as losing a bright light — someone who understood him in a way few people ever had. The tenderness in his words was unmistakable, and it speaks to a woman who clearly left every person she touched a little better for knowing her.

Away from the camera, Fleming remained an active member of the British Columbia theater community, taking on stage roles in productions like Romeo and Juliet, Fame, and Steel Magnolias. She never stopped performing. She never stopped showing up.

She is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose.

Fifty-one is far, far too young. Breast cancer has taken too many — and every single loss like this is a reminder that behind every credit on a screen, there's a real human life being lived with love and purpose and so much more left to give.
