Aaliyah is seen backstage at an afterparty for The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno. She is seen with her publicist and (what looks to be) Kidada Jones. As usual, Aaliyah’s face stays buried in her phone, lol.
Aaliyah had just performed "More Than A Woman" on stage.
In this video, the party DJ is playing Lil Mo's "Superwoman" which was released March 6, 2001.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to Magoo (born Melvin Barcliff on July 12, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia).
“ I remember one time she {Aaliyah} called my hotel room back in LA, she called the phone and she was singing “All Good” by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. She did it six times, and I was going off. I didn’t know it was Aaliyah, and I was cussing that person out. Then Aaliyah actually called, and she was like “You want to go hang out?” and I was like “I’m a little upset right now. Somebody keeps calling my phone singing that Bone Thugs song” and she was like “Like this?” and she started singing it the same way. I never forgot that. ” – Magoo sharing a funny memory he had of Aaliyah.
Magoo once mentioned in an interview that he never got over Aaliyah’s death. 🥺

Aaliyah's MTV Diary episode features her visiting an amusement park with her crew. This outing took place in Paris at the Fête des Tuileries amusement park in Paris.
Aaliyah enjoyed visiting amusement parks or arcades because they allowed her to feel like a kid again, which she valued in the midst of her career. The MTV Diary episode showcasing this amusement park visit aired on August 8, 2001.
Look at the little girl in the background. So cute! Exactly how I would have been if I met Aaliyah, just lurking in the background in disbelief hoping to get at least a hug -- We loved her so much, she was our real life princess and she walked with such grace and class.
Video reblogged from onikaglam2 via Tiktok.
This is one of, if not my absolute favorite Aaliyah fan photo. ❤️🥺 The lil' girl with the pigtails is smiling exactly how I would have smiled when standing next to such an elegant Queen like Aaliyah.
This is Aaliyah at one of the few Bad Boy vs Roca Wear softball games to benefit disadvantage children July 4th 2000.

June 29, 2022 - fans rejoice after hearing the conviction and sentencing of RKelly.
June 21, 2018 Eric Ferrell Meet and Greet at the MAC Pro Store.
June 14, 2018
M-A-C Cosmetics throws a MAC Aaliyah collection Launch Party on June 14, 2018 in Hollywood, California and invites Aaliyah's stylist Tre' Major & Derek Lee as well as Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton. MAC would launch the products Online ONLY first June 20th then in stores June 21st.
Also invited was Jennifer Risinger (labeled as the Aaliyah fan who started the AaliyahForMAC campaign and petition using her AaliyahForMac FB and IG pages).
Some fans voiced their dissatisfaction of Risinger being the “originator” of it all and lashed out that Risinger stole the idea from other fellow fans. This wouldn’t be the only “she’s a theft” story that fans share (but that will be another post in the future).
Many media outlets labeled and credited Risinger as the fan who came up with the idea especially due to her orchestrated, driven and executed plans to help lift the campaign into fruition (let’s not forget all those annoying posts and tags she would send out all across the world wide web) to get signatures to help support the main objective.
With such deduction, the Haughton family hired Risinger to run the @aaliyahapp (which is today’s version of the old 2001 Aaliyah Street Team campaigns).
