Oh my beloved City! I'd love to see you in different colours, In the colours of love, In the colours of peace, In the colours of freedom, Oh I'd love to see you bloom. Oh my beloved City! I'd love to see you in different colours, not in the ones of bloodshed, Neither in the shades of oppression, Nor in the hues of poverty, Never in the colours of gloom, Oh my beloved City! Patience,this too shall pass, For you are under the Care of the One, Who is All-Hearing,All-Seeing your prayers don't go unheard, your pain doesn't go unseen, even though if towards your plight some of your own people, some of the humans don't seem to keen. Oh my beloved City! I want to visit you,and be able to capture the beauty you possess with my own eyes,but I don't think that it'll do your grandeur justice. So for now I capture you in my mind,and in my heart, In my imaginations,you are the city of prayers,my beloved City of peace. My mother's eyes look like butterfly wings when she dreams, which she does only at nights when she is fast asleep. And I sometimes have this weird itch to paint them orange and black like monarch butterflies. I wonder how Argus might have looked like when Hermes sang lullabies to him. A swarm of butterflies fluttering all along his body. Back to her eyes, She remembers none of her dreams and the few hazy recollections from her youth, are now reminiscences within the wrinkles under her eyes. Butterflies never stop fluttering Neither does her eyes, Nor does our eyes. They just change shifts from working outside itself, at days to within itself, at nights. She prepares the manure out of the kitchen waste containing remnants of her passion and sometimes the bane of the voices swelling against her insides. She waters her plants and looks at them as if her long forgotten dreams will sprout any minute from the soil, and she dwells in a dream that maybe someday they will fly high, around the heap of corpses of dreams belonging to millions of women like her. But they don't have wings, they will fly, only when there is a blizzard. What is PATIENCE? 🕯 ⚡ Ever lost someone/something so dear to you and fell apart? Cried whole night and denied all the reasons why you should give up and still hoped that it will come back to you? ⚡ Ever been manipulated and lied to by a friend/ colleague or anyone in your close circle? And you couldn't accept the fact that they actually did this to you? ⚡ Lost an opportunity because of some stupid hurdle and cursed your fate and life? It could be ANYTHING. Anything that broke you into a million tiny pieces and you just had to sit there and wait until you were properly healed. Anything that made you cry and stressed a lot. All these things, events demand patience. They require you to wait for YOUR TIME. Everything is already written. We are just suppose to process the pain and losses. There is not a way that you crying over these things will fix them. There's a greatest power who knows what's best for us and WHEN it's best for us. HE has everything planned and his plans never fail. Indeed HE is the best planner. HE wants us to wait, to have patience and say ALHAMDULILAH in worst situations. It is us who make things intolerable by continiously over-thinking, crying, cursing, and complaining. No matter how hard it is. Try this once. Have patience when you fall, lose, or get hurt. HE will fix you and present you with best rewards. This is the beauty of patience.
