Yeah, so:
I always felt like Finn *was* in love with Rey. But in the way that Glinda is in love with Fiyero. Where his feelings are genuine, but he's in love with who he *thinks* Rey is. He doesn't truly see her. Not the way that Kylo / Ben does. And so he is forever running after her, shouting her name. While she runs straight towards the "wicked" character.
And of course, just like Boq with Glinda, there's another character pining for Finn. But he doesn't even notice Rose because he's so busy running after Rey.
The Hunt For Ben Solo pitch
Some ideas I came up with if The Hunt For Ben Solo ever comes out. Given how long I've mapped this out, it could fit into a new trilogy So Episodes 10-12. It would give fans closure on Rey, Ben, Finn and all other beats of the Sequel Trilogy that felt unresolved.

Of course you're a racist too. Reylo? The ship with a Nazi? Instead of Finnrey? The healthy relationship with a man of color? But no! You'd rather have a romance with a fucking Nazi!
Kylo Ben is not a Nazi... I've already explained that several times.
And sorry for not rushing into the FinnRey relationship, which I consider platonic/familial. Symbolically, a mother and her child (with the ending of The Last Jedi).
Cause, their reunion/cuddle scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it's literally metaphorically, a mother and her child. Throughout Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey encounters feminine (sexual) symbolisms, even maternal, symbolisms. And symbolically, at the end, she resurrects the Resistance by leading them out of their cave (the cave is a very strong feminine symbol, representing the womb or the vagina), with Finn emerging from this cave first to rush into her arms. Not only are they friends, but for Rey, symbolically, Finn is a bit like her little one.
As for Finn, yes, he may have had a bit of a crush on Rey in the first film, but he learned to move past that and function without Rey during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which really defined the kind of relationship they had when they reunited. It was a family. And not in the sense of lovers starting a family, but more symbolically like brother and sister, or as I said, a mother and her child.
The concept of family in the sense of lovers was meant for Reylo. Two beings feeling rejected by their families who found each other and were meant to form a new family together. Specifically, to create a new lineage for the Skywalker family. With all the sexual and maternal symbolism Rey embodies throughout the trilogy (and also the sexual symbolism in relation to Kylo and the scenes they shared), it was clear that Rey was coded as a future mother and that she was meant to become one literally by the end. The same goes for Kylo when he's referred to as the Skywalker seed. She and Kylo creating a new generation around the Force, with uses of it different from the Jedi or Sith methods.
Besides, just because I reject a Finn/Rey romance doesn't mean I'm racist. What the hell? I consider Finn to have been literally part of the original trio in this new film trilogy. And no, the trio wasn't supposed to be Rey, Finn, and Poe! It was supposed to be Kylo, Finn, and Rey, who were all presented to us as the three masked creatures of this new story. The last film ruined everyone's arcs: Rey, Kylo, and Finn.
Plus, I ship FinnPoe / Stormpilot! I think it had enormous potential and should have happened. Oscar Isaac is a genius for explaining that he also wanted it to happen.
And I also ship FinnRose. They made sense and were set up in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But they threw that away only to hint at a potential relationship between Finn and that former Stormtrooper who showed up in The Rise of Skywalker... Plus, they sidelined Rose's character because of haters... It's a disgrace.
So, in conclusion, you need to stop crying racism over everything and anything.
