You said you were a fan of soulmates so I decided to take it into a world you and I both love: The Good Place! I hope you enjoy this! I had a blast writing it! (Of course I’m terrible with deadlines so here’s the first two chapters. The rest of them will be coming shortly, I underestimated how far I’d go with this story!)

“You, Jemma Simmons, are dead. Your life on Earth has ended, and you are now in the next phase of your existence in the universe.”

“Huh?”

The greying woman sitting across from Jemma smiled kindly, allowing her the time to look around and find her bearings. The quaint office was painted light green and was accented with white trim along the doors and windows, where light shone in from the outside. Shelves were lined with things that, by Jemma’s judgement, have no reason to be on display. A brown leather belt, a bowl of child-safe scissors, an English dictionary and a DVD player.

“I just think you humans are wonderful creatures. Such brilliant inventions!” the mysterious woman blurted, “A strap to hold up your pants, when you could just buy ones that fit! How novel!”

Jemma stared blankly at the woman, confusion swept over her. “I’m sorry but this has got to be some kind of joke, right? I don’t remember dying, and I’m sure as hell there is no afterlife, or- whatever this is.” She sat back into her chair, attempting to find a logical conclusion to this situation. “And even if there was, shouldn’t there be more, you know, clouds and rainbows? This looks to me like a crazy person’s office, that’s all.”

“Well Jemma, the afterlife doesn’t work on the ‘heaven or hell’ system you were raised on. Generally speaking, there is a good place, and a bad place.” She paused, “Don’t worry; you’re in the good place.”

Jemma opened her mouth to tell her how little sense that made but was interrupted.

Hello Fitzsimmons shippers!

I’m very excited to hosting yet another exchange: this time, it’s a Secret Valentine! I hope that you will all join in on the fun!

What is this?

The Fitzsimmons Secret Valentine exchange is a cute event (like Secret Santa) where you get a prompt and create a Valentine’s day gift fanwork for a fellow shipper, and receive one in return! While we just had the Secret Santa, this is yet another chance to show love within the fandom, as well as get your feels out regarding FITZ AND SIMMONS ENGAGEMENT!!!

Just fyi, I’ll be using the tag #fsvalentine for all new posts related to this exchange—info posts, updates, etc. This is the tag for posting your gifts as well!

The Dates:

Sign ups are open from now until midnight of January 12th, PST (I know this gives you less than a week to sign up, but this is to give you enough time on the gifts!)

Assignments will be given out by the end of January 14th, PST

Unlike the Secret Santa, all gifts will go out on February 14th, Valentine’s Day ♥

She carried the cup to his desk skillfully-- Jemma prided herself on never spilling a drop-- and as she grew closer, she noticed a folded up sheet of paper on the corner where she always left the mug, marked with a hurried “J.” 

Her heart in her throat, she set down the tea and unfolded the paper. 

“Thanks for the tea, Jemma,” it read, each letter carefully printed, but still distinct. She’d still know Fitz’s handwriting anywhere. “It’s just the way I like it.”

Prompt:  Aromantic Simmons is confused/annoyed about all the romance happening around the base as Valentine’s Day approaches. Her queerplatonic partner Fitz decides to give her an aromantic Valentine’s Day.

Thank you so much for patiently answering all my weird questions, and I know Rey wasn’t on the list of your Top 5 favorite Star Wars characters but I hope you’ll enjoy her “appearance” nonetheless. (And the weird reference to Love Actually that I could not resist ;) )

Jemma rounded the corner, heading down the corridor to the lab. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Nathanson standing by the door, attaching a poster of sorts to the glass window. She narrowed her eyes and walked with determination towards the other agent.

“What are you doing?” she barked, a bit more impatiently than strictly necessary.

Nathanson’s head shot around, his wide eyes nervously glancing back and forth between Jemma and the door. He gestured at the poster with his thumb. “Put—putting up the posters for the Valentine’s party.”

Jemma squinted in confusion, taking in the pink and red hearts on the poster and the fine calligraphy font, indeed announcing a S.H.I.E.L.D. Valentine’s Party. She pointed at the poster, staring at Nathanson. “Has this been authorized?”

“Umm,” Nathanson muttered. “Yes. Director Mace—”

“Ugh. Mace. Of course.” Jemma rolled her eyes, sighing in discontent.
