Throwback Thursday. I forget sometimes that people don't automatically know I used to be obese. My coach's wife saw an old picture of me recently and remarked how incredible the change was. But since it happened to me, it doesn't seem that amazing: it's just something I did. But it's also important to remind myself of it. At this stage of the game it becomes really easy to get caught up in small details and forget where I started. Small (and still shrinking) imperfections have outsized importance when you're preparing for a competition and it can have a negative impact on my attitude if I'm not cognizant of my actual starting point. So here's me remembering that, however much work I think I still need before hitting the stage, the mountain is behind me. I'm near the top.
