(2nd & FINAL UPDATE!!!) NEUILLY, FRANCE / SUNNY BAY, CALIFORNIA -- French animation has been on a strong run for over a decade now, and that does not appear to be slowing down. The long-awaited 3rd season of the hit cartoon series LoliRock has finally been greenlit, as Banijay's Zodiak Kids & Family teams up with Disney Branded Television (DBT), and French public broadcaster "France Télévisions" to bring the fan favorites back on TV.

A recent announcement was made from a programming block for children and teens together on France TV. Okoo is known for hosting popular shows like Ankama Animation's Wakfu, which is set to return for its 5th season. This new installment is projected to make its debut in the window following this year's FIFA World Cup in North America in June 2026 and the Summer Olympic Games in Southern California.

Initially, our inside scoop at The Brighton Bugle was obtained from the production source this past weekend. LoliRock is a French animated series, which was first aired in late-mid October 2014, for those who are not yet familiar with the franchise. The story follows an auditionee hopeful 'Iris', a teenage girl with a powerful singing voice, who secretly discovers on a big break of performance that she is a human princess from the magical kingdom of Ephedia.

Alongside her bandmates and fellow princesses 'Talia' and 'Auriana', Iris has to balance her star career as a pop sensation from 'Sunny Bay, California' with her duty to reclaim her crown from the tyrannical Gramorr. The show was internationally popular for its vibrant "magical girl" style and styling of high-energy French-American pop music.

After the two-part Season 2 finale, which aired in late-February 2017 on France 4, the narrative tension had been created to a high level. In a climactic confrontation, the villainous Mephisto sacrificed himself to save his sibling sister 'Praxina' from a magical explosion. He was confirmed dead, a few moments later.

The princesses liberated Ephedia and brought Iris home to their parents, but even in victory, a bitterness tinged with hope hung over it all. Towards the end of the season, mournful Praxina found a piece of Gramorr's mask and vowed a terrible revenge upon Iris and her friends on our home planet. That cliffhanger has kept fans waiting nearly a decade, and now, with a possible return looming, the stakes feel legitimate once more.

In the years since the Season 2 finale aired, fans have speculated about Praxina's fate, often imagining the consequences she might face from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and International Criminal Court (ICC) for her actions, ranging from attempted murder, domestic terrorism, grand theft auto, and many specific charges such as crimes against humanity.

Because of her actions on their home planet Ephedia on a planetary scale, the ICC is able to issue a red notice (International Arrest Warrant) oddly disregarding local state laws. While a slight positive note, the LoliRock team plans to go world tour, but it was short-lived as unexpected. It will soon be all sorted against Praxina, no matter what.

On Sunday night (June 21st, 2026 -- France local time) in a social media captioned photo on Instagram (corporate parent company of Meta Platforms Inc. [MPi])… The teaser image maintains the series' signature vibrant art style, showcasing the trio in updated magical attire that retains their iconic color motifs.

The drawing styles remain the same, but the animation appears to be more polished in quality. A photo caption read: "Finally in production!", and there was a whole lot of engagement from the LoliRock community. According to the registry database of the International Standard Audiovisual Number (ISAN), Season 3 episodes are expected to run the same 21 minutes as before. Jean Louis-Vandestoc was both the show creator and director of that French animated series: "The new season gives us the opportunity to push the boundaries even further, taking our heroines to bold new visual and storytelling horizons. More of an evolution than a revolution, this new chapter remains deeply rooted in everything audiences love about LoliRock while expanding its scope and ambition", he said.

As of this press time, The Brighton Bugle has sought further comment from Zodiak Kids & Family at Banijay on the matter, but we have not heard it back in our response. France TV has announced a late-October 2028 broadcast date for Season 3, scheduled months after the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, though the public television network noted the timeline could shift if production delays come up.

Excitement crackles through the fan base, with anticipation for Season 3 sparking lively discussion and speculation. The specific synopsis details for the Season 3 premiere are yet to be unveiled, but with the series confirmed, the melody of Ephedia is nearly far from over.

Will Praxina's thirst for revenge steal the spotlight from the princesses' long-awaited comeback? That's the cliffhanger sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats at home or online. But in the end, the Trixie vs. Tootie argument was resolved through development: Trixie was a childhood fantasy that could have faltered with Timmy in the realities of adult devotion, whereas Tootie was a match who saw Turner at his worst and stuck by. Modern lore portrays them as a new married couple that is stable and happy, making it clear that the weird girl next door was the correct decision after all.

Hartman told Nickelodeon Action News and Negros Island TV8, per sources close to production, that there were three (3) different candidates whom they selected before committing to the marriage of Turner: Chloe Armstrong Carmichael, Trixie Tang, and Tootie. Yet, both Carmichael and Tang turned out to be untenable as potential partners due to suitability concerns, thus making Tootie Miller the most favorite character among devoted fans of the original series.

The FOP universe has endured in excess of two (2) decades of cosmic anarchy, unearned desires, and fairy godparents more than we can count, giving their own version of "I do" with the most decisiveness ever. PENTAGRAM CITY, PRIDE RING -- A highly unauthorized public gathering where the situation among Hell's most powerful has reached a critical point. The rally centered on a Season 2 episode of Hazbin Hotel known as "Silenced", focuses on the Overlord Vox making a lid-rattling confrontation not only to opponents in Hell, but to what he sees as meddling interference by Heaven itself.

The rally was held on a huge, well-illuminated stage within the city centre. This scene depicted a huge crowd standing under a huge neon sign bearing the name "HAIL V POPULI", presumably a populist call to arms celebrating Vox and the Overlords, the Vees. Yet, all this soon turned into violence when characters like Angels came onto the scene. A planned clash was symbolically taking place between the two (2), defying Vox in a musical duel with the participation of the current popular outcry.

The main disagreement under focus in this episode is the abusive escalation of power between Overlord Vox and the notorious Radio Demon 'Alastor Louis Hartfelt', where it culminates in an all-out war in this episode, sparking a lot of hateful remarks. The publicity, in front of the audience, showing images of massacre killings from the black heaven, was done by Vox as he sought to increase the level of rivalry formally, and publicly declaring that there is no peace in sight, and he is not retracting anything, nor refusing an apology that happened before.

More importantly, the battle is not limited to the ranks of Hell. The very appearance of the angelic figures brings the viewer to an understanding that the defiant war declaration of Vox is directed towards the bodies of heaven, and especially those that personify Heaven and Seraphim. The swashbucking nature of Vox, who throws down the gauntlet in the presence of a huge crowd, is the first possible indicator of a serious increase in the tension between Hell and the administration of Heaven.

This expression of publicity, including the unlawful violence of Vox and the observable confrontation with the angelic figures, preconditions a direct and far-reaching effect. The 2-part episode depicts that the next episode "Scream Rain" will directly address the consequences of the public confrontation of Vox.

Turning into a winged and mighty creature, Alastor implies that the opposing powers are quite ready to stand firmly to the declaration of war. The situation in the Pentagram City is shifting towards an unstable era where the clash between mighty Overlords and a new, hostile invasion of Heaven is sharply delineated. ROUBAIX, FRANCE -- French entertainment company 'Ankama Animations' recently announced that the long-awaited 5th season of 'Wakfu' will actually mark the end in France. It was reported last Wednesday night (December 18th, 2024 -- France local time) during the company's event of "Ankama Showtime" at the online video game broadcaster 'Twitch', the said animated series is finishing its run with a climactic 26-episode finale.

The decision to make a 5th Season is due to the fact that Season 4 has been so successful that most people thought it was going to be the last season and received astonished ratings, so people wanted an absolute proper ending for one more season. 'Wakfu' premiered at the end of October 2008, and has been a flagship of French animation ever since, chronicling the adventures of the Brotherhood of the Tofu. In this upcoming season, viewers will get to see the early stages of Yugo Sharm and Prncs. Amalia Sheran Sharm's marriage, along with the introduction of a new, enigmatic antagonist.

This development was further detailed in an online press briefing by 'XyaLe7111', Ankama's Transmedia Manager said in part: "Wakfu (Season 5) will be the last season. It is the conclusion of 16 years of animated adventures with the Brotherhood of the Tofu. [The last] 26 episodes will tell the story of the early days of Yugo Sharm and Amalia Sheran Sharm's marriage and introduce a new narrative arc and a new antagonist. Well, not really a new antagonist, but I won't reveal everything just yet!", she noted in French dialect.

As previously reported by DWFH-FM 97.7mhz's K5 News FM: Dumaguete during the Annecy Festival in mid-June 2024, Season 5 has been greenlit in collaboration with France Télévisions, alongside FranceTVSlash and France 4.

The involvement of the public broadcaster helps maintain a legacy that has significantly impacted animated storytelling in France. As previously noted, it was unexpectedly decided not to air the full 4th Season on France 4. Instead, the episodes will be released first on the 'Ankama Launcher', the Okoo app, and the France TV website, as they went beyond the intended demographic for national kids and teens TV.

Ankama will soon be funding all the production costs to the public broadcaster, and reaching to fans all over the globe, including the Philippines, by running a Kickstarter for February 2025. Pre-production will soon get underway as writing for the final new season has been initiated. As of yet, no official release date is announced, but based on the show's creator 'Anthony Roux', per the X Network tweeted post (formerly Twitter), Wakfu (Season 5) could premiere as early as 2027.

The focus of crowdfunding by Ankama mirrors the fact that the animation company strives to make a season for its Wakfunian fans, bringing this saga to a befitting end after 16 years of captivating people who were in part for its history the animated cartoon community.

CALAMBA, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL -- In a shocking and tragic incident that is recently unfolded in the morning on Sunday (November 5th, 2023 – Calamba local time)… Juan Jerrebel Anggoy Jumalon, popularly known as “DJ Johnny Walker”, a 57 y/o part-time hard-hitting local radio announcer and Disc Jockey [born on August 2nd, 1966], morning radio host and on-board provincial station manager of 94.7mhz’s Gold FM: Calamba was shot dead inside on his own home radio booth at Purok 2, Brgy. Don Bernardo A. Neri, Calamba, Misamis Occidental during an exclusive Facebook live video broadcast of his local morning radio program 'Pahapyod sa Kabuntagon’ (Early Morning). This devastating event has sent shockwaves throughout the local Calambanon community and the radio broadcasting industry in Misamis Occidental.

DJ Johnny Walker, a beloved not-so-fictional figure in the local radio scene, was a prominent personality on 94.7 Gold FM: Calamba. His real name “Juan Jerrebel Anggoy Jumalon”, was known to very few as he went by his radio alias, which had become synonymous with the morning airwaves. More than several years or decades of experience in radio broadcasting, Mr. Jumalon had become an integral part of the local community, providing entertainment, information and a sense of connection to his listeners each day.

94.7 Gold FM: Calamba is an affiliated local FM radio station of the Kalayaan Broadcasting System Inc. (KBSi), and DJ Johnny Walker played a pivotal role in its success. His morning radio program, 'Pahapyod sa Kabuntagon’ was not only known for its entertaining content but also for its community engagement, discussing local & regional issues in Misamis Occidental, and bringing the community together through various interactive segments. This made Mr. Jumalon, a cherished figure among his listeners and colleagues.

In 2014, his personal broadcasting setup of the aforesaid local FM radio station within a decade before the male suspect gunned down to Mr. Jumalon during an exclusive televised interview of DXTE-TV 8's TV5: Cagayan de Oro for News 5. In his personal health reasons back then, Mr. Jumalon was part of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Several years later aside from murder case, local and regional issues to be followed when discussing land and business all across the Misamis Occidental area as a motive.

Per the exclusive spot report as obtained by 106.1mhz’s Favorite Music Radio: Babe Radio Dipolog and the selected KBP-member stations in Misamis Occidental, in cooperation with DWPM-AM’s Radyo 630: Manila, when the tragic incident took place during the said LIVE Facebook video broadcast of 'Pahapyod sa Kabuntagon’ around 5:35am on that fateful Black Sunday. This was the world's first online horrific, TeleRadyo-like broadcasting history in Southern Mindanao.

Outside the CCTV video as mentioned, another suspect to be illegally trespassed, who were pretending in disguise as a local listener for a potential public service without a security guard on-duty.

Within the final moments develop, the unnamed male suspect who remains at large and carries a firearm of caliber .45 pistol, disrupted the live FM radio program and shot twice to Mr. Jumalon (even in audible transistor radio simulcast in general), leading to his untimely demise by shooting his lower lip towards his back portion head, then stealing a gold jewelry worth PHP150,000 (U$D2,682.45), and quickly fled off the scene shortly after. Overall, two or three suspects have yet to be later identified on national internet TV. The aforesaid live video on the radio station’s Facebook page on 94.7 Gold FM: Calamba, captured the horrifying event as it unfolded, leaving online viewers in shock and disbelief.

As we gather a lot of information and investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event, there is an outpouring of support and condolences from the listeners, avid fans, friends and colleagues of Mr. Jumalon on various disclosed social media platforms. The incident has prompted discussions about the safety of media professionals, particularly in the realm of live radio broadcasting and online media.

Local authorities in Misamis Occidental have embarked on a detailed probe, and the motive is suspected to be a work-related situation. He was now confirmed dead on arrivial (DOA) from a physician doctor named Dr. Geopeter L. Manisan at Calamba District Hospital (CDH) in National Highway, the said city.

A hot pursuit operation of the Calamba Municipal Police Station (CMPS) is on its way, in relation to a brutal murder suspect from an unidentified gun man.

The untimely demise of “DJ Johnny Walker” is a profound loss to the local radio industry and the community he served for several years or decades. His legacy as a passionate radio personality who connected with his audience on a personal level will be remembered and cherished on him. He is one of the 199th journalists killed since 1986 until the present, which includes Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Dumaguete City, Mabinay and Negros Oriental, as according to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP).

As the investigation unfolds from the Calamba-Philippine National Police, the community and his fellow broadcasters mourn the loss of a beloved figure and await justice throughout the weekend for this heinous act.
