Three fucking hours in the morning.

Grinding her teeth in irritation, Astrid raises herself on her elbows. Her crazy roommate had built a tent out of a blanket, on which a hunched shadow loomed in the light of a flashlight. Astrid's eyelid twitched from giggling, excited muttering, rustling pages and other sounds coming from the "tent". 

Fishlegs shuddered and fell silent when the blanket was abruptly torn off him. Astrid loomed over him menacingly. Her features, distorted by malice, were truly frightening. 

"I'm taking this," she hissed through her teeth and snatched the comic out of his hands before Fishlegs could do anything. 

"Hey! I didn't have time to finish reading!.." he belatedly protested, but Astrid resolutely shoved the comic book under her pillow. 

Hiccup: *Reaches for the butter*

I mean, I have my ideas?  Like I have like 3 au’s in my head in which Fishstrid is at least temporarily a thing and like…the dynamic could occur, especially if those two dorks were determined to get the same thing done, but it’s just hard?  

Like, one of them, which was like a pre-cursor in my mind to T:rttbposc, they were trying to save their cattle ranches and combined after the liquidated Haddock ranch flooded the market in the wake of Hiccup’s tragic combine accident and they like, barely scraped by and hooked up post accounting miracle.  But I still didn’t see that lasting?  

I don’t know who would like the other first.  

I just thought that bird watching might work, in a weird way that makes me think like I’m about to research rare birds and not write anything.  But it’s like aiming those two in the same direction and making them realize that they could use the others’ help and then they start liking the others’ company and then bam, romantic fishstrid.  I’ve like…got the key but I don’t know what door it goes to.
