This has been in my mend pile long enough that I don't remember who owns it.

It's a large fitted sheet. Probably a queen size though the tag is either missing or very good at hiding.
Fish patch time.
I am going for a sashiko style lantern fish. The weakened area is too big for a quick patch, but once this is done; it'll be the strongest part of the blanket without increasing the strain on neighboring threads too much.
Why a lantern fish? Because they're part of a balanced breakfast for many marine creatures. They help hold the food chain together.
I have not checked the whole fitted sheet yet. I will do that after I do a blanket stitch around the lantern fish.
There might be more fish incoming or there might not.
