Englewood Cliffs 5k... It was a great day for the Reiser Family. I came in 3rd place overall but that wasn’t the only thing that put a big smile on my face! My 7 year old son PR’d with 22:46!!! Funny story... before the race I told my son that Daddy is going to run with you but since he ran 20 miles the day before he might not be that fast. You just run whatever pace you want. Daddy couldn’t keep up! He watched him from behind while he raced against a 44 year old guy. The guy only beat him by a few seconds in the end and later he told us he thought for sure he would never last the entire race running that pace. Well he showed him😂 The crazy part is it was a very hot day, a hilly course and he really hasn’t been running much lately! Memorial Day Ridgewood 5k... I decided to run it with my boys since I haven’t been training for speed yet. My 7 year old ran a 23:30 placing 3rd in his age group! Boston Marathon 2018 in the books! It was the coldest Boston Marathon since 2009 but it didn’t rain on that day! As if the rain and cold weren’t enough we also had to battle the wind 💨 I want to congratulate all the people that ran this race today! You truly had to give it your heart and soul to cross that finish line. You should all be proud! I want to congratulate my amazing teammates @kda1169 @katzbike @joshuathomasdj I truly look up to you guys for your support, guidance and outstanding athletic ability! Kim and Steve, we created some great memories I will cherish forever! You’re help and advice got me through a lot during this race. Also I would not have been able to do what I did today if it weren’t for my coach Roger Aspholm. @finkraftsisu He kept me training although I was injured and it never got worse. His schedule included the Antigravity Treadmill twice sometimes three times a week @pecpt Clearly it worked because I ran a 3:38 with ease in these insane conditions! It also meant the world to me to have my parents, my sister @stefania_panepinto my brother-in-law @joe_rodrigues_architecture To have them there while accomplish such a great feat drove me to the finish line. Above all I have to thank my amazing husband❤️ From taking care of our 4 crazy boys so they could watch their mom fly to running around in the awful conditions to see me on the course, I love you with all my heart and I know you will be running this amazing race soon. Most importantly the one person who helped me through the several foot issues due to a bad bunion surgery many years ago was Dr. Richard Braver. I wouldn’t have been able to run this race if he didn’t repair my torn plantar fascia last year, help me deal with my posterial tibial tendon strain, made me custom orthotics and some great guidance! Last but not least I want to thank this amazing IG community and my close friends. I appreciate all the well wishes and for contacting me afterwards to see how I was doing! I thought about you during the race and you inspire me greatly!!! Thank you all for donating to the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County. With your help I was able to raised $1,685! WARNING ⚠️DO NOT RUN ON A STRESS FRACTURE... swipe to see what happens 🙈 I decided to go for it even though I had doubts. I managed to come in 3rd overall for women but I am now paying for it. I am out for 3 weeks for sure. I can't even step on my left foot. The nice part was we all placed: @kda1169 came in 2nd in her age group, William 11: 3rd for 10-14 year olds, Ondrej 9: 2nd for 9 and under, and Joseph who just turned 7 last week came in 1st for 9 and under!
