#finalized design

Here is my finalized design of Thomas as a cat :] I gave him a bandage on his tail and a chipped ear since Thomas is a reckless, mischievous engine.

Thomas' design is a mix between Thomas O' Malley and Furrball from Tiny Toons.

I didn’t have the time to do Inktober. So I decided to go for OCtober instead and taking the opportunity to draw some characters from my original story that I haven’t gotten to yet. First up is Farfalla’s girlfriend, Kalamoi. To see this picture in higher resolution, click HERE. Also, here’s a bio:

Additional Information: Kalamoi first met Farfalla when she happened to run into one of his siblings, who got lost. Grateful for helping find him, Farfalla invites her to his home, where they get to know each other more. As time goes on, they bond over their mutual interests (mainly in cooking and handcrafts). She eventually gets a stay-at-home job as a researcher (A lot of Terah’s history was destroyed a long time ago and she tries to piece things together.). Whenever new information is found, it’s sent to her to be analyzed. She has a somewhat timid personality but isn’t afraid to lash out when pushed to it.

Kalamoi is a Gynandromorph, called “Rarities” in the Chou Kingdom. Kalamoi, like most Rarities, was sent to a facility as a child where she and others like her were living in a place where they were displayed to everyone, as a means of respect (Despite how strange that sounds, it’s a sign of high regard among the Chou.) Once she was old enough to live on her own, she was given the means to live a life of luxury but decided to live in a standard home, using her earnings for other purposes. Despite being more masculine in appearance, by Chou standards, she embraces her female side more. While it was a struggle at first, she eventually learns to accept both sides of herself. She also admires Farfalla’s gentle nature (He was also the first person to call both sides of her “Beautiful”.). When pretty much the whole Chou Kingdom was against Farfalla for joining Irio’s cause, she and Farfalla’s siblings were the only ones to support him.

Finished with Tori’s finalized colors and design for my original story. Design-wise, Tori has changed the most compared to the story's first draft (if you want to see how he used to look, go through the depths of my deviantart XD). In the original concept, the Aderyn people had wings since birth and no hands. Like with Kit, I realized that that would be impractical, so this was changed to them growing wings during puberty. As for Tori himself, he's also changed a lot as a character. Although, this is mainly because I didn't have much written about him when I started. For the final story, I want to show the hardships he goes through being a 15-year-old King. He takes his responsibilities seriously, so much so that he feels guilty over those who died trying to keep him safe when he was younger. He and his people have a close connection to each other. He worries for them and tries to protect them but they insist that they're willing to die for him (which ironically is one of the main causes of his worrying XD). Whenever he does have free time (which is a rarity due to being in the middle of a war), he likes to spend his free time playing with younger children and trying to catch up on his sleep. One particular running gag of his is him turning up missing only to be found sleeping in awkward positions while working. His favorite flower is Lavender since they help him relax.

Finished finalizing Kit's design and colors. Not much has changed about him physically. The main differences is that he has a strap to keep his shirt on and the gloves. When I originally created him, his cat paws were real but then I realized that that would make it difficult for him to hold things. So they were changed to gloves that he uses for hand to hand combat and, occasionally, as pillows X3. What's changed most is his personality. In the original concept, he started out as a friend of Yama's and didn't have much personality other than being the "cute" one of the group. Now he's Irio's adoptive brother, has a lot more backstory and probably has the most character growth out of the main 3.
