The normal length of a peplos, and probably most clothing woven on the warp-weighted loom was about 4 to 5 feet wide and 5 to seven feet long. Cloth of that length could not be made without rolling it up as it was being woven and, indeed, in most of the loom images, it is clear that a length of already woven cloth is wound on the top beam of the loom, the ‘cloth beam’. The ruse that Penelope used to delay answering her suitors—weaving by day and unweaving by night so that the finishing of the work would be indefinitely delayed—is much more plausible if one knows that the cloth was wound up as it was woven and thus could never be visible on the loom in its entirety. It would be almost impossible to unroll it until the whole cloth was completed and ready to be removed from the loom.
In a well-illustrated discussion of what kind of weaving Penelope might have been doing, Barber shows that first, in order for her ruse to be credible, the funeral shroud Penelope was weaving for Laertes must have been patterned. Pattern weaving is time consuming. Second, the weave structure for such a ceremonial cloth was probably either tapestry or supplementary weft. Third, pictorial cloth was typically arranged in horizontal bands of figures or friezes. Fourth, from comparative evidence, it is entirely credible that culturally important narratives would be recorded in a ceremonial cloth, as Helen in Iliad III 125–128 is said to weave the story of the Trojan War. And fifth, the weaving of such an icon is a quasi-priestly office and would, in Homeric times, necessarily be in the hands of an elite woman rather than a band of slaves.

Fun fact: Bernard is a physics and biology major. Another fun fact: Tim is a big nerd. One more fun fact: Kon is a freaky alien and scientific anomaly.
You cannot tell me Bernard and Tim don’t nerd out about kryptonian biology.
Tim (on the phone with Lois): Hey. Do you happen to have any of Kon’s baby teeth?
Lois: How…did you get this number? And, no. He was too old for that when we found out about him.
Tim: Darn…do you have any of Clark’s teeth?
Lois: I’m gonna hang up now.
Bernard (on a date with Kon): So, how about we go back to my dorm…
Kon (smiling): Mhmm?
Bernard: and sneak into the science lab…
Kon: What-
Bernard: and you let me DNA sequence you.
Kon: …yeah, ok.
Tim (two tables over holding a newspaper with eyeholes cut out of it): YES

the church of Pity lore (in case you don't watch ren's POV of cowboy smp!)
The bandits that attacked Pity specifically went for the church, targeting what was given the vague descriptor of "valuables." When they didn't find anything, they murdered the preacher inside and left. It is implied that the real valuables (whether it was objects, books, or bodies wasn't specified) are buried underneath the church.
The new preacher (Ren) took the old ones' place, assuming a fierce rivalry with the mayor (Oli) along with his duties. The role of preacher to the church of Pity seems to be far more protection-oriented than teaching-oriented-- almost nothing to have to do with being a preacher at all. Almost no one shows up to hear sermons in Pity, but Preacher is always equipped to defend the building. The mayor even went as far as to say "Damn! You're strong! Were you always a preacher, Preacher?" in the first episode, to which Preacher did not respond. Offhandedly after slaying a spider he remarked, "I have been called Monster Hunter before. But not in this town," and continued on. When Sausage admitted to murder during confessionals, Preacher said, "These are actions I cannot judge. I had a past before Pity." As expected, he didn't respond to any further queries.
The mayor seems to know that something is buried under the church that the preacher is hiding, sometimes sneaking behind the preacher's back to attempt to dig. Preacher and False are on patrols together to make sure he doesn't get there, but False doesn't know why.
It was also the mayor who invited everyone to Pity to dig for gold, inviting them to dig anywhere and everywhere they liked. Preacher hated this, saying he "can't trust the ambitions of any of the arrivals." However, due to the newcomer Pyro, we know that bandits, the mayor, and the ghosts of Pity are not the only ones looking for the riches.
It's also the government.
recently started watching false's episodes and so I decided to draw her while I watch! I'm not sure what I want to do with her design yet but here's some vauge ideas :]
browsing fanart I saw her drawn with brown wings and thought that'd be cute! aswell as I gave her freckles because I thought it'd fit her :D yes I don't think she had freckles irl but I think it suits her and so I did it!
it's a very simple drawing, I might draw her more lowkey, she's just so fun! I love her! her videos are so entertaining <3
