"THIS IS THE GAY CYCLE!!!"
Snapshot from studying today

isobel: But this is nazi germany.

Athena's Circle's Patron Deities
Athena: Goddess of war, wisdom, technical skills and artistry, she is the patron goddess of Bryn Mawr. Leave offerings at her statue in Thomas Great Hall before exams for good luck. (Just don't leave half-eaten food, that's both unsanitary and rude.)
Artemis: Goddess of the hunt, nature, and protector of young girls and unmarried women. She is connected with the moon and nature, and both aiding hunters and protecting wild animals. She is a virgin Goddess (never interested in romance or sex) with a talent for archery, making her an aro ase(xual) arrow ace.
Juno: I found that website to be, um, rude, so I found this better one for more info. Juno is the Goddess of marriage, pregnancy, and childbirth. She is very closely tied to the family and home. Her festival, Matronalia, is the first of March. Like Jupiter, she could throw lightning bolts, showing off her more warlike nature.
Sedna: Sedna is an Inuit sea Goddess and Goddess of the underworld. In her legend, she was a maiden who was married off against her will to an evil spirit (I've heard either a dog-spirit or bird-spirit), who becomes angry that she runs away when her father rescues her in their kayak. The husband frightens the father, who throws Sedna overboard. She hangs onto the side of the kayak with her hands, but her father takes his axe and cuts off her fingers. Her fingers become the first sea creatures, and Sedna falls to the bottom of the ocean, where she becomes Queen of the underworld called Adlivun, where the dead are purified, preserved, or punished.
A Very Happy Hanukkah...
Just wanted to pop in and wish all of my Jewish followers a Happy Hanukkah. I know it's only the first night of many, but I hope you all have great celebrations.

every other question on the chanukah ask meme?
that is so many
Latkes: What do you think about the term “guilty pleasure”? Do you have any?
It's pretty accurate for some things. My guilty pleasures are reality shows and bad music.
Bimuelos: What’s your favorite sweet? Bonus points if you give a recipe!
holy hell do i love baklava
Nun: What do you lack or miss most in your life?
I miss animals and the family
Hey: Share a story about yourself.
This is not a story about me but it is one I was present for.
So during my confirmation year (it's something my synagogue does, we were in tenth grade, most of us had known each other since we were three) we went on a fall retreat to do bonding. And there was this one guy who was as much of a lax bro as you can get without having a lacrosse stick in your hands at that very moment. He brought axe body spray. It got sprayed everywhere in the room where the boys were. He also had a hat that he wore all of the time.
While he was in the shower like three hours before we left to go back, someone took his hat, sprayed axe in it, and then put it back. And then we waited.
He came out, he put his hat on, he screamed "WHAT THE FUCK" and threw the hat down the hallway where someone else promptly picked it up and contained it in the mini fridge.
He put the hat back on before we left and sat at the back of the bus with the window open. We got about 30 minutes down the highway before it flew out the window and he asked "Can we go back?" and our teacher said "Nope!"
And that's how he lost his hat and axe got banned from our retreats.
Shamash: Do you prefer to be a leader or a follower? Why?
Mostly a follower because making decisions is scary but I almost always end up complaining if I'm not in charge because people do not do things how I think they should be done. I am not a good person to have in your group project because I will either do nothing and probably fall asleep or insist on doing most of it because I want it to be done "right"
Light: What gives you hope?
People are really nice and most of them want you to succeed.
Second Temple: Where can you go for comfort or to feel like you belong?
The friends (in general). Mostly when I don't feel like I belong and I am discomforted I cry for a bit and watch videos on youtube or listen to podcasts.
Hanukkah Harry: What do you want for Hanukkah this year?
I asked my parents for hats and scarves because asking them to use my preferred pronouns would have caused conflict.
Svinge: What’s something about you or your culture that you wish people talked about or knew?
About me: There's a weird shit that goes on when it comes to my vision that I didn't know was weird until a bit ago.
i never had my hair cut by anyone besides my mom (who knows how to cut hair) until i was like 12
My mom used to cut my hair too. Except she wasn't professionally trained as a hair-cutter-person. She did a good job anyway though.
