Some other swap sketches for my deltaswap Au, this time it's the characters who we know little to nothing about, so this'll be the last of these specific guys for awhile.
July 22, 1936
Pictured here are (from left to right): Johannes Poulsen, Charlie Chaplin, Paulette Goddard, actress Norma Shearer, and Johannes Poulsen's wife, Ulla Poulsen, a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet.
Notable figures of stage and screen gathered at Pickfair, the estate of actress Mary Pickford in Beverly Hills, California, to welcome Johannes Poulsen, director of the Royal Danish Theatre. In this capacity, Poulsen was invited by the California Festival Association in 1936 to present an outdoor production of the medieval spectacle "Everyman" at the Hollywood Bowl in September.
Johannes Poulsen, director of the Royal Danish Theatre
Johannes Poulsen, born November 17, 1881, in Copenhagen, was a Danish actor and theater director, brother of Adam and Svenn Poulsen. He made his debut with his brother Adam at the Dagmar Theater in 1901 and remained there until 1909. After that, he was hired by the Royal Danish Theater, where he remained until his death, interrupted only by guest appearances in Norway and other countries. From 1917, he also directed at the Royal Danish Theater. He made his film debut in 1910 with his brother at Regia Kunstfilm and appeared in four silent films for that studio and three silent films for Nordisk Film. In 1938, he appeared in a sound film. Johannes Poulsen was the son of actor and theater director Emil Poulsen (1842-1911) and Anna Augusta Dorthea Winzentine Margrethe Næser, and the younger brother of actor Adam Poulsen. He was married three times: the first time – briefly – in 1908 to Norwegian Ingeborg Maria Hauge. The second time in 1917 to Sylvia Mizpah Pio (1878-1932). And the third time in 1924 to solo dancer and actress Ulla Poulsen Skou. Between Sylvia and Ulla Poulsen, he had a brief relationship with Erna Hamilton. He died on October 14, 1938, and was buried in the dunes of Tranestederne in Hulsig, near his home, Tranegården in Skagen.

1912 – Burglary at the Actress's House (as Burglar; director Eduard Schnedler-Sørensen)
1938 – Champagnegaloppen (as Salomon Bierbaum, musician in Lumbye's orchestra; director George Schnéevoigt)
Johannes Poulsen remained at the Royal Theatre until his death two years later, making his final appearance as Christian IV in Elf Hill on May 31, 1938. Shortly before his death, he starred with George Schnéevoigt in the film "Champagnegaloppen." He died on October 14, 1938, at the age of 56.

A rarely seen photo of Charlie Chaplin and Paulette Goddard at Mary Pickford's estate in Beverly Hills, California, during a reception for Johannes Poulsen.
During the same visit, Charlie Chaplin presented Dr. Poulsen with his director's chair, which he personally signed for the Royal Theatre Museum in Copenhagen.
"Everyman" was financed by legendary film producer Irving Thalberg. The play itself was a grand and expensive spectacle. The premiere drew a massive audience of 12,000, (September) including many film stars.

Other people in the photo:
On the lower right is Anita Loos, an American novelist, screenwriter, and film producer. She wrote some 150 film scripts and known for elevating text boards to the level of art. Called the brightest young woman in the world by D.W. Griffith. (X)
Anita Loos's husband, John Emerson, is on the left side of the photo, at the very top.
In the middle of the photo: Mary Anita Loos (niece of Anita Loos) - actress, screenwriter, television scriptwriter and novelist.
Next to her: Robert Cobb.
Did you just wake up in here? What's the last thing you remember?
VINNY: It's... Always hard to say.
VINNY: I remember what was on my YouTube channel, mainly. If I have the privilege to retain anything at all, it's never in order. I gave up on the concept of "the last thing" a long time ago.
VINNY: I remember... The North Star. I remember talking to Habit- who I don't remember pissing off, at least- so maybe whatever this is about won't be so bad.
VINNY: A guy can hope.
I know that the Everyman Susie thing seems like a joke, but I think that there is some logic to it....
