I designed all 15 suitors of Penelope that are mentioned in the Odyssey… I have no regrets, I love them so much, I will never let them go. Considering yapping sessions for each one based on their known stories and my headcanons for them
GROUP CLOSE UPS:
And below are the full images in height order too (idk how tumblr quality will deal with them LOL)
Dana! Such pandora box you opened with that Thriasus post!😫
Like i always wondered how your maids and suitors would look like in a modern au!
I would LOVE to see more!😫
Hehehe oh I know! It’s just that I don’t have much, I have a Eurydamas pic…
Or Thriasus and Laomedes friendship
Thanks to wasa and Sinner we made a lot of hunger games /office games so I developed more Thriasus and gave him his glow up…
For the “office games” pic we decided to do funny photos.. well
Inside joke (oh plus in the first the lil guy is Pseras, I’ll see if someday I’ll make him public!)
The suitors!
Please give me duos of them so i can draw!
I hope you wouldn’t mind doing name translations more often from time to time since I’m assuming it takes a little while to complete those lists. I’d love to see ones for the Odyssey monsters, other suitors, and maybe even some of the more underrated warriors from the Trojan War like Pandarus and Cebriones. Apologies if I’m asking for too much, but I do love etymology and Homer!
You are very kind and thanks for understanding but yes it seems these lists have become very popular these days hahaha. I am so happy at how fast and well this previous answer of mine spread!
💬 24 🔁 48 ❤️ 95 · Some of the Greeks: · What are the meanings behind the names of the main Iliad and Odyssey characters? Just curious. Ce
But sure I could do that! I will try at least to deliver! Hahaha So here goes:

"His two squires brought Eurydamas a pair of earrings, each earring a triple cluster of mulberry-shaped drops, gracefully glowing." — Odyssey, Book XVIII "Then wise and cunning Odysseus gave the word for his comrades to hurl their sharp spears once more into the crowd of Suitors. Odysseus, sacker of cities, struck Eurydamas;" — Odyssey, Book XXII
First analog drawing in years and it's one of Penelope's 108 nuisances suitors. I envision him as one of the 57 Dulichians, and with the wealth he displays a fairly important nobleman there — the son of a family who governs over one of the few habitable islands in the Echinades perhaps. He'd dress and carry himself similarly to Taphian pirates despite not being one, due to Echinades being a place the pirates can freely roam, and dealings with them being much easier when they don't see you as 'other'.
Eurydamas - the CROW suitor
A somber, quiet man who stares at people with the sharpest gaze you can imagine
Eurydamas is one of Queen Penelope’s most devoted suitors. At 48 years old and 6’2” tall, he is a man with a hunched back and a very slender build who hides himself from everyone. He is the stereotype of a somber, dark man, like those in gloomy novels, and somewhat inspired by Dracula or Frollo. He has been a widower since the age of 29.
Known for giving the queen a pair of beautiful earrings with three pendants from an island, perhaps near or far, no one knows...
He has a strong poetic inclination; he reads novels and anything else—trying to use them to charm the queen. He has a strange fascination with darkness, death, and poetry... but those contemplative moments are surely interrupted by Pissandro. But one thing is certain: the shadow he can cast on some people; when he speaks, he sends a cold shiver down their spines.
He spends his time locked away in his study outside the palace, writing poetry or whatever work he has. He generally takes advantage of the night to work, when he feels most at peace.
He hides from the sun because it hurts his overly pale skin; his skin is too cold... if it touches you, you freeze- and wherever he goes, he leaves a cold aura behind
He has little to no contact with the other suitors; the only one who approaches him to talk is Pissandro, thanks to his outgoing personality. He partly prefers to keep his distance; the suitors are TOTAL scum, he detests them. In his own words, they aren’t even worthy of being called suitors or even nobles. If anyone were to ask him about them, he would simply reply curtly, “Being a suitor means pursuing and focusing your attention on the main objective… the queen, no… THIS!” pointing at the others.
With this in mind, it’s certain he has no relationship with them, no sports, outings, drinks, conversations, etc... a solitary man who associates more with shadows than with people, poetic toward death and tragic.
Faithful to the god Thanatos. Cold-hearted; if someone does something to him, he will never forget it, even for years. He is resentful but does not act before devising a plan if he has the opportunity
