Its such an insignificant detail but i think makes the crew feel more diversified and also respects their cultural identity.

Seriously, that's exactly how I wrote and imagined their first encounters. The worst part is that Simon really was VERY out of it the first time he came to, so he doesn't remember saying that, and Grace would rather not bring it up.
