and then we cut to these extreme close up shots of the two of them as they go back and forth with their observations. i know they're not literally standing this close to each other, but this framing is A Choice. this is intimate. they're even positioned so that their faces form two halves of a whole! it's like they're having brain sex. and then they get so excited when they both draw the same conclusion about a trick the killer pulled

i know there's an instance waaaay later when heiji randomly sees shinichi kneeling instead of conan standing, and he kind of shakes his head. i'm putting this as the first canonical instance of him hallucinating shinichi instead of conan. it's fitting here. they're in a dark place, engrossed in hashing out who the killer is, and the last time this kind of divergence happened was when they first met--when shinichi was shinichi. heiji seems especially unwilling to go along with the conan ruse (man was 2 for 2 in slipping up with ran just before this), and the setting made it really easy for him to put it out of his mind.

how can what is essentially a fossil go extinct?

this is exactly what it is like dealing with small children. that being said, aisa is traumatized, so it's okay. nami's face is so funny here though. she has ZERO tolerance.

i genuinely think eneru's biggest strength isn't his invulnerability, it's his ability to move and teleport. makes him much more dangerous tactically.

we don't see a huge amount of robin in combat, so this multi-arm move to absorb the blow is cool.

again, and i know i say this a lot but i love how smart and practical robin is. little stuff like this makes the world feel lived in and the characters have real thoughts and lives beyond their ability to fight things.

i really like the idea that the clouds have layers, kinda like the earth's crust. it would make sense that neither of the dominant groups, angels or shandians, seem very interested in archeology. so robin's revelation makes the whole discovery a lot more engaging. like, it's probable nobody knew this existed! (i may be wrong)
