On a completely separate note, the footage from Venezuela is downright nauseating. Seeing people suffer in the aftermath of natural disasters will always hit so close to home for me after what we went through in Helene especially knowing how lucky i was geopolitically when i went through a natural disaster at its epicenter. It's extremely difficult and triggering to engage with the coverage but I've sent money already, if you have any capacity at all do consider sending some money their way. It is so so upsetting, they must be in unimaginable pain and suffering down there. Going through a severe natural disaster is something that we all have a responsibility to respond to, your entire world is shattered
#i cant really look bwcause then i cant breathe#it's stupid that natural disaster coverage still triggers me when other disasters are orders of magnitude worse than what i personally#endured#but there's a special kind of onlooker horror i feel knowing how absolutely terrifying the aftermath can be#as someone who was in a lucky position globally to endure a major natural disaster
