Anyways here's a list of a few :3

He is good at making and enchanting weapons but doesn't really like the mining and gathering part. He employs punz to do that :3

He's a bit of a potion nerd. He experiments with potions

So well.. before the revivebook, he's already really interested in magic! And he knows how to do experiments the *right* way? But magic has never felt as scary before

He got nerve damage that makes his hands shake

He got memory issues (i guess that's canon anyway??) And he keeps a little journal to keep track of things

I hc canon Dream as just some regular human. But for funsies i also like the idea of him being a sort of shapeshifter? Where his like view of himself changes his physical appearance. He himself doesn't have any controll over his form. So in the beginning, he's just some kind of animal hybrid, something kind but strong. When the wars starts it changes slightly to something a little less kind and more focused on fighting. In the staged final, he looks scary and almost like a monster. In Pandora, his form shrinks, and he looks more like a prey hybrid, maybe bunnyyy.. And I don't know about post prison. I have had this thought for a while, but i haven't actually written it down

Also, I think drunz is real but they never date cause of dreams attachment issues and punz not wanting to overstep. Theyre just pinning the ehole time😭

15. What's your favourite c!Dream AU?

I am more a fan of canon-compliant character explorations or putting guys into Situations to see how they act, but when it comes to AUs, I guess Syndicate AU is the one I have always found the most fascinating. Just because there is a very obvious point to make canon branch out in that direction, and I love thinking about how c!Dream would fair if he was thrown into an environment where people actually give a fuck about him, and even more-so, an environment where he gets to attempt to achieve his goals in less destructive ways. I may be a lorehead and an enjoyer of messy characters and messy relationships but my heart also bleeds for sweet redemption stories, okay. I contain multitudes!!

20. What are some of your favourite pieces of c!Dream analysis?

Literally anything by @overthinkingfandom, especially the strategist c!Dream manifesto; I am not sure how well it holds up these days, but it's still a fascinating read. This post by Bubbles is more of a ramble than an analysis and is also old as fuck but I love it nonetheless. Can't really think up anything else off the top of my head. There is plenty of meta out there that introduced amazing ideas into discussion, but few that is quite this overarching.

25. If c!Dream had to join an existing/former DSMP country or faction, which one would you choose for him?

But then again, totally okay if that's the story you want to tell! The only problem is when people bring that stuff from fics to analysis; that goes for any character.

the ask from swordfright kinda compliments yours, really, and at the end of it all we get a complete statement that I think applies to all characters in the story

all characters are heroes of certain stories and victims of others, and they are definitely villains in many others. and all of that needs to be acknowledged, especially if we are to Discuss canon. it's valid to ignore parts of the character especially when we write from the perspective of someone they have a particular relationship with, but these fandom views don't have place in the actual story analysis

there is a lot of nuance to all characters on the SMP so to only choose one feels like taking two barbie dolls and waving them around

as one anon said, there is a line. and that applies to all of these

yes, c!Wilbur can be depicted as a hero in c!Tommy's eyes, but it would be stupid to ignore the emotional abuse that was inflicted in the process

yes, c!Quackity is a fucked up individual that tortured someone for fun. but he also underwent a lot of trauma at the hands of his fiancé and then when he got engaged later to someone else, they neglected him

yes, c!Dream was hurt in prison and reduced into a whimpering begging mess. but he also murdered one of the people responsible for the torture when he had the opportunity

it's cool to see people lean more into one or the other with the good/evil hero/victim/villain thing, but the main thing people seem to mind is when it's Just One and all the rest of the character is erased
