I personally haven't. I try not to indulge myself in the drama, although I'm aware of everything that goes on.

Hamilton is problematic.

But all fandoms are. I feel as though, if a person is educated and knows that the founding fathers were terrible people, Hamilton is an good piece of media.

The sentences: "knowing the founding fathers were awful people and not looking up to them" and "knowing Hamilton is good for bringing attention to POC Broadway actors and appreciating the music" can co exist.

Yes, there is a small minority (who is extremely loud, unfortunately) that ruins the fandom and musical for everyone else.

Do your research. Realise the founding fathers were terrible, and should not be idolised.

We like and enjoy the characters based on them. I like Daveed Diggs version of Thomas Jefferson, not the historical, racist, pedophile which the man is.

In the end, it all comes down to educating yourself.

Why are people doing this? To take credit for other peoples posts? Cause it's really not cool.

I don't have Instagram, so I can't crack down on this, but I've had plenty of people send me messages and asks telling me about people taking posts without credit.

All I'm asking for is my URL being left in the post, not being cropped out.

Cause I know the things this blog doesn't look like much but I dedicate my time to running it and it wouldn't cost me anything to stop posting.

OKAY SO: Because I'm that bitch™, I saw someone on amino review 1776 and saw this as an opportunity to share my thoughts.

For context, they said the soundtrack wasn't the most memorable, and that Jefferson deserved his own song. Those are what I reference in this tangent!

Back again to share more thoughts on 1776 because I love this movie:

About the soundtrack, is something I'd disagree with. I really loved all the songs! Every one sounded unique and I really enjoyed them! Piddle, Twiddle and Resolve is so catchy, especially the chorus.

The Lees of Old Virginia is so fun, Richard Henry Lee never fails to being a smile to my face.

But, Mr Adams is absolutely incredible. I loved the visual of the founding fathers passing a quill back and forth like a game of pass the parcel or hot potato. Also Mr Adams, LEAVE ME ALONE always makes me laugh.

He Plays The Violin just makes me so happy. Martha is such a fun character and I wished she was in the movie more.

The Egg is another of my favourites. Benjamin Franklin is so hilarious. The t u r k e y

However I agree with the sentiment that I wish Jefferson had gotten his own song.

Another thing is that the movie is so damn quotable!

Benjamin is just so hilarious the entire time. Jefferson is a big mood - especially in the way he kicks his feet up and reads a book while the entirety of congress screams at each other.

The constant reoccurring "I'm obnoxious and disliked!" And "saltpeter!" "Pins!"

I just wished there was more Martha (and RHL tbh). But all in all 1776 is my absolute favourite movie.

Note: I do NOT shop the historical figures with anyone apart from their ACTUAL wives. I sincerely only ship the characters LMM created around these people. All of the founding fathers were pretty awful people, who may have done great things, but MANY MANY MANY unexceptional things. Okay, onto the rankings.

Okay so, I’ve chosen the 4 biggest Hamilton ships and I’m gonna give my opinion! Starting with the smallest of the biggest and working my way up!

Mullette:

8/10 mwah

Lafayette x Hercules is wonderful and amazing and I love it. Y’all can have your opinions like I have mine, but I adore this ship! I think the dynamic is very cute, and personally headcannon Laf as Pan and Herc as bi. But yes, I think this ship is very cute.

For the next two ships I couldn’t decide which was more popular, so I’ve just put them in this order, I think they’re about the same.

Jamilton:

9/10 I like it a lot

I won’t comment on this since it seems to be quite a controversial ship, but just know it’s all tumblrs fault that I LOVE this ship.

Okay, I was like all of y’all when I joined this fandom. I was young, and I was lams obsessed. And then amino ruined it and made John one of my least favourite characters, I started DESPISING this Guy because of the toxic amino fandom and their sTUPID FUCKING HEADCANNONS

I’m slowly beginning to love John again, but I will never be able to rekindle my love for lams. Now, it’s just a ship I use because it works. JeffMads and mullette are in a story? Okay throw some lams in. I will never make a full, multi chapter based on lams, unlike what I’ve done for all the other three (at least I’m working on Jamilton)

I hate the fact I can’t seem to ship it but honestly, if you can’t offer me Jamilton, then I’ll take Hamlaf or Mulliham over this.

Laflams? Now that’s something I can get behind!

But Lams? I don’t think I’ll ever truly be able to find myself enjoying this ship again.

This is gonna sound controversial, but I've needed to say this for a while. I ranted about it on amino, so here goes.

Fuck that meme. Fuck it. Fuck it so fucking much I hate it with all of my being. It started off funny, but then it was overused and now its downright disrespectful. It's so fucking disrespectful and disgusting that it makes me want to tear my hair out. I despise it. Sure, the art is controversial and its "funny" to make fun of. But we forget someone put time and effort into the creation of it. Also, after hearing what happened to the creator (I wont be discussing that here, if you want to form an opinion on it, look it up, there are plenty of posts) I personally feel bad for them. What happened was horrible.

in short, its perhaps one of the unfunniest memes I've ever seen, I hate it. And if anyone shares any memes of it with me, or tags me in anything KNOWING that I hate it. I'm sorry, I will block you. I fucking hate it.

Anyway, this was quite the rant but I'm super passionate about this.
